The fee is horrendous, * knows what is going in, makes you wonder ifvhesone big bad egg and ange wants him out.

Surely must be about lack of time as if its over money someone needs their p45

As I remember, negotiations dragged on for ages with GG till he agreed to join Celtic.

No one should be belittled for not going to games. Really poor form. People should be building each other up not down.

Off to the house of mirrors for a good hard look at yourself mate.

And Sean, if you're ever in Oz hit me up and we can have a 1am watch party on my deck with the kangaroos, galahs and crimson rosellas.

And maybe a couple of cheeky great northerns if your ticker is up to it!

Just give him the 22K a week and agree to punt him in the summer. That 4M story gives me the fear.

Agree, his game time is sparse and he must be * off. I would run him into the ground with three full games, each for 90 mins, and if he did not produce the goods and prove his worth and back up his self belief, then I would talk to him and insist he is an impact player and that is how I would use him to get the best out of him. Ange may have already reached that conclusion.

I would keep him and increase his salary. A man needs to know his limits.

GG is 28 and sitting on a 5 yr contract, which is a good deal considering his age, and Celtic paid VVV Venlo approx. 1-5 to 2mill for his transfer after his good single year in Holland, and took him on while he had a substantial injury issue that kept him from playing for half the season. He accepted the deal and the contract would have stipulated the terms. He deserves an increase in his wages based on the goals he has scored so far for Celtic since he joined up.

Kyogo had a more proven record in Japan, is younger and was signed for 4.5 mill and with a better negotiated salary than GG it seems, and for me is the more complete and mobile and skilfull player than Giakoumakis.

Torino or Hellas Verona should bid for him, they like big men up front.

Regarding long ball merchants or tall strikers in general - we've used them in many eras. Managers have their own styles, and some are more pragmatic than others. MON, WGS and even Ange had bought tall strikers.

Regarding politics, I am a left wing nationalist.

Celtic's atmosphere, bravery on the field and ability to overcome bigger clubs attracted me. Later on, I found out about the origins of the club, and I realized that's what sets it apart from the "elite" clubs.

I stay by my opinion: Lyndon Dykes would replace GG better than Nisbet.

Can only assume it’s contractual, given the way negotiations dragged out when he signed I would guess there’s some sort of release clause which would be triggered if he doesn’t get the wage rise he’s clearly after.

I wouldn’t be breaking the bank for him either, depending on what he wants. I like him, he provides us something different but he’s also frustrating as * and nowhere close to a fully firing Kyogo.

If he wants silly money then it won’t be quite as easy as giving him it until summer and then selling him off, could end up pricing teams who would likely want to sign him out and then we’re stuck with a player motivated only by money, who we don’t really want to be paying what we are.

The fee is definitely lower than we’d all like, however we were never going to get big money for him anyway so as long as he’s adequately replaced, this month then we move on and wish him well.

If a 28 year old striker who’s scored in the champions league thinks a move to the J league or MLS is a good move at that point in his career there’s probably no place in an Ange team for him.

At that fee i cant see us buying in an improvement. That was the whole philosophy wasn't it buy and sell on and continually improve i fear we'll be on the young prospect road again.
I guess not every transfer window will be like our previous, maybe agreement has been made for summer deals. Just have to wait and see
GG going will be a big loss though.

Vata is very mobile and direct and deserves a place in the squad. Would be a big mistake to get rid of him.

We got Mooy on a free transfer. Best deal closed by Ange in my opinion.

Reminds me of a big ox of a centre forward who played for German national team 30 years ago.

They had a few, mate. Bierhoff, Jancker, Zickler...

    Loved that style of play.

To sell him and replace him with Nisbet would be a huge mistake.
Surely there is a compromise that can be reached with him to get him to stay for another 3 years on better terms?
It could be of more financial benefit to us to get him to sign on

He got offered 6K more currently on 11K how much better terms do you want if he wants 25K which I’m led to believe then get him out can’t be holding the club to ransom for that type of money.

so his salary would move to 17K that’s a lot for a 2nd choice striker and is a good offer. What more can Celtic do if he doesn’t accept those terms not their fault he wants an unrealistic amount.

I would like to keep him but if him and his agent are playing hard ball then Ange will get rid no questions asked and bring in someone else. No player is bigger than Celtic never have been never will be.

If we bowed to his actual demands how many more of our players will try the same?

This has all gone south since he dumped his agent and took on JJ's agent.

A second choice striker who finished top scorer in Scotland and Holland his last two seasons and has been highly reliable when called upon. Given a run of games, id fancy him to continue that form in any absence of Kyogo. Whats more is that id bet my last pound that a lot of opponents would rather face Kyogo than GG. Goldson doesnt fancy it.

To put things into perspective, we could spend millions on the Klimalas, Banguras, of the world trying to replace him. His character is worth a lot to us alone and you can see his appetite for goals.

How much do you think John Hartson was on when he was behind Larsson and Sutton for periods? And how much would that be taking inflation into consideration?
We should have two players vying for every position and right now we realistically have two at centre forward.

Theres always a compromise to be reached. I think 18k with favourable goal bonuses gives all parties incentive and leave the door open for him. No chance he wants to go to Japan over staying with us.
