11K to 17K apparently which is a big pay rise. Mooy had a better pedigree than GG if you ask me. Not saying I’d give him 25K but also a 6K a week rise is quite good

 

I don’t want to lose him but if offered that much more and he thinks he wants 25K I wouldn’t be offering him that personally causes more issues if a perceived 2nd choice is on that and others aren’t he got offered over 50% more of his current salary

 

I don't know what kind of fantasy land you live in, but contractually guaranteeing a player starts is the most absurd suggestion I've heard on here since you suggested signing the Japanese national team manager to manage Champions League games while Ange manages us domestically. I don't want to be unkind, but this stuff is just bizarre, delusionary nonsense. Stop.

 

In fairness, we don't know if Giakoumakis' pay demands are through the scale. Could be that he's being unreasonable himself in a bid to get a move elsewhere.

Could of course be that we're simply playing hard-ball ourselves and making an * of this.

Important not to act as though Giakoumakis is holier than thou here though. We just don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

You’ve also got to take into account that Mooy was a free agent. We paid £2.5m for GG, that’s Mooy’s wages for his whole contract.

 

Again came on and did more than Kyogo.

 

The best time to move JJ and gg on and get their replacements is now rather than the summer for me.. and rb already appears to be sorted

The only people that want to see GG leave are Beale and the Huns, because they fucken fear him.

We've got potentially three more Hun games to come, and we can't go into those games lacking firepower and a physical focal point up front.

Get it sorted.

 

Great to see him score tonight. Would really like to see him stay until the summer at least.

 

How is offering to eliminate the reason of a player's grievances delusional? For all we know, any striker we try to sign might want assurances of that sort after seeing how GG suddenly stopped getting starts.

 

It’s not just about money it’s game time too

 

Everyone saying give him the money. For me it's simpler than that......give him the game time he wants and he'll stay.

Kyogo was awful last nite but will guarantee start in mid week. The managers favouritism over Kyogo is why we are gonna lose GG and probably 1 of the main reasons the big Korean said no too.

 

The Korean or any striker for that matter cannot demand a guarantee of game time. That needs earned in training. He's not right for this squad, get over him.

 

I think Giakoumakis is demanding, or was demanding game time (assuming he's dead set on leaving now), just like any decent striker will. Unfortunately, we're not a club for which players are lining up to even just be in the roster. There are players that are older, and would be fine sitting on the bench, but Ange probably doesn't look for that.

Solutions: either Ange realizes having a good target man will mean Kyogo has to share game time with him- perhaps meriting a 2 striker formation...or get a cheap, older big guy in to come on when needed, while keeping Kyogo as the undisputed No. 1.

I suppose there is a 3. option: convert Abada into a striker and abandon physicality alltogether. The worst out of the three solutions, IMO.

 

As I see it the main problem is he "thought" he was promised something. So his agent needs to take some blame here.

If you negociate something you get it in the contract.

As for more game time I can only see that coming if we change to a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2.

Whilst 3-5-2 is MY prefered set up, Ange doesn't see it that way, and I think he knows more about it than I do.

Kyogo is going to be the starting striker when fit. GG will come on as a sub. If Kyogo misses a few games and GG scores a hat full then the roles might reverse.

If GG is willing to accept that, then yes let's give him the money.

 

You could easily play a 3-5-2 but that does away with inverted full backs and you would need to lose a Daizen or jota out the team to accommodate that also imo a couldn’t see jota playing left wingback
