    This whole saga is just my bi-annual reminder that;

-In sports journalism very few, if any, really know what's going on BTS and the rest are just feeding off the scraps.
-That exciting players we're linked with, who don't end up joining, are out of my mind COMPLETELY mere days after the end of the window.
-And finally that these things are entirely out of my control and compulsively checking threads here or on Twitter for updates just leaves me feeling drained and like I've wasted my time.

Glad this saga with Cho has me at my threshold early this window. I'm sure I'll unwittingly repeat the cycle again in 6 months. Till then,

    If he signs he signs.

"The striker feels Mainz want him the most?".....They've offered the least in terms of a transfer fee though

Cho Kyu-seong, who has been actively involved in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and is receiving love calls from European teams, is contemplating whether to move to Mainz or stay at Jeonbuk Hyundai. It is said that the desire to play in the European big leagues was stronger than the transfer fee and other conditions, and Mainz's active courtship also captured Cho Kyu-sung's heart.

2022 was a special year for Jeonbuk striker Cho Kyu-seong. Cho Kyu-seong, who enlisted as a managing director in Gimcheon to solve military problems early, raised his confidence after coach Kim Tae-wan's training and grew into the best goal scorer in the K League 1. In September 2022, he returned to Jeonbuk and won the K League 1 scorer and FA Cup. , FA Cup MVP, etc.

The best stage for Cho Kyu-sung was the World Cup. Cho Gyu-seong, who made his A-match debut in September 2021, received the trust of Bento coach and established himself as the 'Number 2' striker following the signboard striker Hwang Ui-jo. also did

In the end, the dream came true. In the first game against Uruguay, Cho Kyu-seong was put on the ground with Lee Kang-in and Son Jun-ho in the 29th minute of the second half, and showed active movement. Here, I was able to give good scores, such as making sharp shooting chances.

The story of Cho Kyu-sung's life reversal was not over. A bigger leap was waiting. When Hwang Ui-jo was sluggish in the first game, Bento coach boldly took up his sword and used Cho Kyu-seong as a starting card in the second game against Ghana. Cho Kyu-seong lived up to Bento's trust. Cho Kyu-seong scored two goals alone in the second half when he was trailing 0-2, becoming the first player in World Cup history to score two goals in one match.

Now, Cho Kyu-sung’s gaze was directed to a higher place. It's just entering Europe. Specifically, Celtic (Scotland), Mainz (Germany), and Minnesota (USA) are sending hot love calls while handing out official offers.

Regarding this, Kyu-sung Cho said, “I always think it is important to do my best in a given position. Since there is nothing decided, I try to do my best in the given position comfortably. Communicating with the agent. I'm hearing about the transfer fee, but it's important. I can see how much the club wants me. The higher the transfer fee, the more I think I have to work harder and prepare better.”

He continued, “Many articles came out, so I saw it too. I haven't heard anything specific. I heard that they are negotiating, but there are no concrete plans. I'm thinking about whether it's better to go in January or summer. I am talking with director Park Ji-seong and director Kim Sang-shik. I am thinking about how to go to Europe.”

Specific conditions were also disclosed. Celtic proposed an additional payment of 50% to Jeonbuk on the condition of a transfer fee of 3 million euros (approximately 4 billion won) and an upper limit of 6 million euros from the transfer fee that would occur if the player moved to another team in the future. Minnesota of the United States put forward a condition of paying an additional 30% of the transfer fee in the event of a future transfer in addition to the transfer fee of 5 million euros (approximately 6.7 billion won).

Celtic and Minnesota seemed to be ahead of the transfer fee, but Cho Kyu-seong leaned toward Mainz, which belongs to the German Bundesliga, a big European league. If he does not go to Mainz, he is likely to stay in Jeonbuk.

An official said, "Cho Kyu-sung's mind is leaning towards Mainz. He wants to advance to the European big leagues, and the Mainz coach is also deeply interested in Cho Kyu-sung. If he can't head to Mainz, he thinks he'll stay in Jeonbuk. He is contemplating whether to go to Europe in the winter or summer.”

The reason Cho Kyu-seong wants to move to Mainz is clear. This is because Lee Jae-seong, a senior from Jeonbuk and the national team, is active in Mainz, and Mainz coach Bo Svensson wants Cho Kyu-seong directly. In addition, while Mainz is actively negotiating with Cho Kyu-seong, the situation is different in that Celtic and Minnesota are also considering recruiting other strikers such as Oh Hyun-kyu and Hwang Eui-jo.

Mainz is serious about signing Cho Kyu-sung. It is known that Mainz's general manager Christian Heidel is leading the negotiations by directly acknowledging the interest, and has offered a slightly higher amount than has been known so far. The fact that a German club, which values stable financial management, has placed conditions similar to those of other clubs, shows how much Mainz is interested in it.

First of all, Jeonbuk sets the player's value higher, and prefers to transfer in the summer rather than the winter. They want the players they have cherished to be highly evaluated, and they hope to advance to the European stage in time for the summer when the squad is newly formed.

Cho Kyu-seong is also struggling with the timing of his transfer. First of all, I'm in a state of mind with Mainz, but I'm approaching carefully by communicating closely with the Jeonbuk club, coach Kim Sang-sik, director Park Ji-seong, and agents.

Cho Kyu-seong said, "I also contact Jae-seong hyung a lot. Jae-seong told me that I have to compete wherever I go. Since I am in Mainz, he directly told me how much the club wants me to. I am grateful and fortunate that Jae-seong is there. “Not only me, but any player will want to go out when a good opportunity comes. If you can't go out in winter, things may be different in summer. The ransom may drop. everything is being considered I am thinking of the best way to do it,” he said carefully while revealing that he wanted to go to Europe this winter.

It's a complicated situation, but I'm thinking of solving the problem as quickly as possible. This is because if he moves to Mainz, he must join the team as soon as possible and adapt, and if he stays in Jeonbuk, he must focus on field training to win the new season.

Finally, Cho Kyu-seong said, “I am considering several things. I'm looking at how I'm feeling right now. If you go in winter, you have to fight 100%. football is cool You have to think about how competitive you are. Personally, I think you should make a decision as soon as possible. You have to prepare for the season in Jeonbuk or go to Europe to prepare. I think it's better to make a decision as soon as possible."

No idea why ppl keeping mentioning GG visiting Bremen before he signed for us. He's about to leave in this window FFS. Surely that proves the point?

Also, ppl have no issue with a player weighing his options. It's the manner of his attitude that's the problem.
No one had heard of this * chode a year ago, now he's mincing about pressers acting like he the next Son Heung Min.
He also doesn't have the common sense to keep his * mouth shut about a preferred destination, when the side he wants to go to are obviously not as keen as he would like them to be. Harping on about his own transfer value and what not, is an absolute riddy.

As another poster astutely pointed out...MAJOR Viduka vibes of this *.

He hasn't even visited our club and already thinks he's too good for us.
If we do sign him, we will be option B or C. Nothing wrong with that if course, as long as he does his job. But, as with GG, and Jura, we've seen how from the 10iar season how destructive it is to the squad cohesion to have player with one foot out the door.
Nevermind a player who joins us with one foot out the door already.

    Get him to *.

I would love Big Ange to come out and say yes we made an offer, but the * head was to big to fit through the doors at Lennoxtown. So we cut off negotiations.

Lol, it’s colder in Jeonju in winter than Glasgow. Temperatures consistently in the below zero range, quick scan shows it’s going to be down to minus 9 next week. Think he won’t care about the weather.

Been holding off on making a judgement on this due to never really knowing the ins and outs of what's really going on, but it looks abundantly clear that he's not interested in coming here. Really hope we pull the plug ASAP and move on as we seem to be getting strung along.

Ram it Cho, go to Mainz and enjoy winning * all.

A mid table club in Germany is a good stepping stone....to a bigger German club. Don't think too many dream epl teams will be sniffing about mainz for players. Ah well. Seems to have pals over there so we move on. See what the weekend brings

This signing if true is dragging out, it goes all against how our recent signings have gone. We have been quick to sign and announce players with very little info getting to the media, keeping them in the dark. I hope it is no coincidence that this is the first supposed signing since Lawell came back, this seems like one of his long winded drawn out signing sagas then pull out and go and sign some *.

If Park Ji-Sung would prefer him to stay, why go to London to negotiate with us. Also what's the point if Cho's heart is with Mainz. Guy hasn't got the heart or guts to play in the CL it would seem. Strung us along. Enjoy obscurity Cho

If friendship with a player is one of his reasons for wanting to go elsewhere, then that's one of the most humane and understandable reasons that exist. In the automatically translated article, I saw a word that was mistakenly put as a part of the Mainz player's name, but is actually a suffix used for an older brother or a close older male friend.
I'd just like Jo to state his desire this weekend. Zero grudges from me if he refuses us.
