I definitely don't want him as a Giakoumakis replacement. I'd take him and Cho though.

This sort of deal should be rejected out of hand by us. If they want him, fine, just get it over with and buy him.

They are very poor and only have 9 goals so far this season. I suspect he'll struggle to get anything going there, and then his price will drop when he comes back.

We probably won't get a better time to sell, so might as well do just that and sell if he wants out.

As regards game time, no doubt GG has been hard done too by Ange.

I suspect the relationship between GG and Ange has broken down because of it.

Still think it is madness to be considering letting GG go during mid season when the league is still at stake and automatic qualification to the Champions League up for grabs, and hope some wannabe replacement will hit the ground running, and be able to match GG's abilities.

It might well be the Celtic Board will step in and give GG an improved contract, and over rule Ange on this one.

Bordeaux wanting GG for the fee we paid for him, lol, after being top scorer in league.

Whyd they not up it to £3m and we'll throw in Jota, CCV and Kyogo

It's noticeable when GG comes on as a sub for the minutes that Ange has given him here and there, that the rest of the team respond to him in a positive manner, and become an altogether different kind of beast.

We saw that at Ibrox when GG came on, in the lead up to the Kyogo goal.GG got stuck right into them, and the opening came for Kyogo.

It lends weight to the call to include GG and Kyogo in the same team.

Beale and Rangers fear GG, so I don't see the sense or reasoning in releasing such an asset mid season.

I’d go with the Sampdoria option and hope he performs well and Sampdoria get relegated still. More Italian clubs interested and a higher fee!

Frustrating he wants away, but Ange has said plenty of times, he'll only play those who want to be here, which is really refreshing tbh..

Anything under 5 mill is a complete and utter * take..

Top scorer for a relegated side in the Eredivisie. No Ajax. No Feyenoord. No PSV. No a mid table side. A relegated side and he finished top goalscorer..

Comes to us the next season. No pre season whatsoever. Barely played before Christmas. Got injured. Kyogo on fire. Then really comes to life January onwards and finishes top goalscorer..

In his prime years. Back in the national side and scoring. Had some massive goals and performances for us..

3 mill. 4 mill. Loans. 4 mill if sides stay up but are 6 points off safety in their leagues..

    * off man..

The only way we'd be getting rid for such measly sums is if he's being a right * amongst the squad behind the scenes. If he isn't, he only goes for what works for all. The above are joke offers..

We are considerably weaker without him.

That stands to be the case even if we sign Cho.

With the Klan now reverting to the Gerrard anti-football tactic of flooding the middle of the park, we won't always be able to play through them. We need a striker we can hit with a long ball as an option. I always felt we lost that when Dembele left as Edouard didn't have the same physicality. Giakoumakis has been excellent in that role against them even though he hasn't scored. He seems to preoccupy their defenders and causes chaos in their box - it's actually played a significant part in Abada's goals against them.

Kyogo just doesn't offer much at all. I know he scored at Ibrox but he was completely anonymous for the whole game. He's like a wee schoolboy who is just so easily dealt with by their thugs. In fact you could say Giakoumakis played a part in Kyogo's goal by occupying their defenders to the extent Kyogo got free and was able to slot it home. Like Abada's goals, these don't count as assists but he is really playing his part in absolutely terrorising the Klan's backline.

Given that we're going to be playing the scum at Hampden soon, the thought of just having Kyogo as an option fills me with dread.

would it really be to difficult to give the guy more than 10 mins per week playing time to keep him happy.......what makes the manager think the replacement will be happy sitting on a bench all week waiting for kyogo to lose form or get hurt.

Given how hard he has worked and how he has played when coming off the bench since the resumption he may be wanting to leave but he certainly is doing a professional job. No way is he leaving either until A we get in his replacement and B we get a much more realistic fee for him. He was top scorer in 2 leagues the past 2 seasons and has 3.5 years left on his current Celtic deal.
At this point if he leaves in this window it will be because we have signed his replacement already and some club gets itchy at the end of January and finally stumps up a real fee for what he represents in quality.

I'd rather give GG a wage rise than spend the money we are going to use signing the Korean boy. I doubt it will happen now though unfortunately when he's already got one foot out the door.

Canny fault Ange and the way he has managed us, but as already mentioned i canny understand why GG hasn't had more game time thus far, plenty of times he could've been used, normally when he's brought on later in games he's been excellent.

Just wanted to see more of him.

agree with all that but what thoes offers show (as low as they are) is there is a lot of interest in him, id guess these offers are put in early to see how keen we are to sell theres a long way to go before the window shuts and id say there will be a decent offer before that

Maybe gg has asked to leave due to family reasons missus hasn't settled so Ange is focusing on the players that are here mentally he's done well when he's come on and last season they seemed to get a game each here and there he's just had another kids maybe his missus wants to be closer to family or go somewhere warmer

He’s scoring at the weekend then we will not see him again in the Hoops.

Tbh if he's not wanting to be here wouldn't have him anywhere near the squad.

The quicker he's off the better if thisnis the case.

€2-3m is a total insult of an offer and I highly doubt Bordeaux could afford him they were in that much of a financial mess they were getting threatened with demotion to the third tier.

I know the player has a lot of power in this and we don’t want unhappy players but if we don’t get a respectable offer what do you do. To me it should be £6m minimum and I feel that is cheap for the guy. The only offer that sounds even close to that was the Japanese being up to £8m.

See when you see what some of the lumps of wood that scored goals in the English Championship go for selling GG for £4m would be a joke.
