    Think he looks class.

I had a gut feeling about Hatate from what I read and seen. I had the same feeling about Iwata but now I have a feeling he'll be even better than Hatate and I rate Hatate a lot.

I think the most pleasing thing is that we now should have the option to have Iwata sitting behind the other two midfielders and push McGregor further forward, which would give us more options in the middle.

The best yet, without doubt. He looks * class.

Also looks like he could play the 8 if need be from that vid.

Yep. Just gives us more options and depth. Without having to shuffle the pack and move an O'Riley back for example..

I don't think it'll be long before he cements a place. Just don't know where exactly yet :giggle1:

Thought the 6 was nailed on and McGregor pushed on but starting to feel like we may change system..

Would be class if he could for tougher games....maybe in Europe. Almost like what I hoped a Soro would turn in to....that Kante box to box, pressing 8 (no laughing at the back :fear:)..

Here me out...but is he here to transition taking over O'Riley?

Not sure if it is really the case anymore but for whatever reason O'Riley seems to be the name that comes up most when referencing players leaving soon, could he leaving in the summer so Ange has thought ahead to get this guy in... move McGregor into the O'Riley role then Iwata as a defensive option in midfield?

i was with you until you said johnston and bernabei but then i guess this would be a formation against strong european sides especially away imo where our cb's ability in striking long accurate passes from our penalty box to near the opposition penalty box, could see us having a real balanced looking team

domestically we would have too many defensive bias players johnston iwata kobyashi vickers bernabei, obviously they would all step into opposing half and become attacking when we had our usual 75% possession but then would it not be better having more attacking bias players at full back or even either side of vickers

domestically i would have 4 1 2 3 think we need a comfortable mobile ball playing rwb similiar or better than jj love the heart of ralston but mobility and defensively he worries me, johnston looks like a center half to me that can play right back then you have vickers kobayahsi or starfelt and i think bernabei or taylor when we play 4 at the back in scotland we are really playing with 2 at the back with our lb and rb playing as wingers so they have to be wingers like

this iwata looks perfect as the dm/play maker then hatate and mcgregor infront of him and inside left jota jackie like player or furahashi cf and haksabanovic/forrest/abata inside right

abata is much more a outside right winger with his pace he could maybe play right wing back like agathe back in the day

if in europe though id need to taper the attacking line up back a bit though :)

    He looks solid.
I've got a good feeling about this one.
Fit right in at No.6 and gives us leverage to move McGregor to No.8.

McGregor further forward…in his actual position. He’s amazing, but the roles he’s had to play for the last 3-4 years have held him back so much. He’s not a holding player is he, so with iwata in I think we’re gonna see a new animal in cal

Class mate, loved the wee cameo from Daizen.

I like a player who can skin someone with a wee drop of the shoulder. Reminds me of Kayal a bit in the way he does that.
