His all round game has always left a lot to be desired. Used to hold on to the ball far too long, as if he always wanted to show his strength. Now he can't pass a ball. He is handy to have though, or at least a player in a similar mould.

When you only get 15/20 minutes here and there, you won’t be at your best mate.

No coincidence the best he’s been for us was when he got 15/20 games in a row. Even though he’s done it well at times he’s not an impact sub sorta player, he’s a number 1 striker that gets better the more he’s playing. It’s clear by this point that won’t be here though, I don’t blame him for apparently wanting away, if he goes, I wish him all the best and thank him for his part last season.

Am I remembering this incorrectly, but after a shaky start last season it was strong appearances from the bench initially that allowed the fans to get behind him?

Kyogo getting injured and us being with no striker for a while, had to play Turnbull up top at one point, GG came back from injury and put a string of games together.

At the start off the bench * were slating him. Check near the start of the thread.

Being linked with Midjtlaand (no idea how to spell that) in the Danish media.

Wonder what kind of fee he'll command.

Don't imagine they could offer him the type of wages he would be looking for

FC Midtjylland in dialogue about Georgios Giakoumakis. He is a former top scorer in the Honors Division and a forward in Celtic. It's one of those that will be really expensive if it succeeds.
Danish giants FC Midtjylland are in talks over signing Celtic striker Georgios Giakoumakis, but any deal would be expensive for the Superliga side

Giakoumakis is looking at a potential exit from Celtic during this month’s window, with his agent assessing the options available.

Inside Futbol understands that Giakoumakis would like a switch to the Premier League, while he is also open to Germany and Italy as destinations.

Now though he has serious interest from Denmark and, according to Danish daily BT, Midtjylland are in talks to land him.

It is unclear how sold on a move to Denmark Giakoumakis would be, while it is suggested the switch would be an expensive one for Midtjylland to pull off.

The Greek striker has had to make do with limited opportunities to start games at Celtic under Ange Postecoglou this season.

And he is looking to play more football over the course of the second half of the season.

Midtjylland currently sit a lowly seventh in the Danish Superliga table following a poor first half of the season.

The Danish top flight does not restart until 18th February and Midtjylland could have Giakoumakis in the ranks by then.

Yeah I can't see it either to be honest. Could be a guaranteed starter though and if they went all out it may convince him. Who knows.

I follow the Danish Superleague and I would be very, very surprised if they can afford his wages and transfer fee. Erik Sviachencko is FC Midtjyllands captain btw.

I get that players are never really at their best if they’re only getting 15/20 mins from the bench.

But that doesn’t excuse regularly being unable to pass the ball to a teammate. There’s no excuse for that.

Just feels that whenever he plays, all he does is commit fouls, stray offside and/or give the ball away.

He's spat the dummy, no doubt. His touch and link up was always iffy but he made up for it by giving 100% every time and having a brilliant attitude. Now that that's gone he isn't showing up well.

I appreciate what he did last season but the sooner he's out and replaced by someone who wants to be here the better. Same for Jura.

Don’t rate him as highly as some but would have thought he’d get a better move than midtylland. Would also be shocked if they got anywhere near paying him what he’d be looking for.

If looking for a replacement for GG, West Brom are in financal trouble so need money, might be worth a punt on Dike or BTA.

Could they afford the fee? I can’t imagine they spend much on players but could be wrong.

Whoever gets him will get him for a steal though. If he was starting every week I have no doubt his stats would be pretty impressive, he’s deadly but just not had the game time last few weeks. I can’t see us getting more than £7m for him even though he’s worth double that but just not had the game time to prove it.

I'm guessing we've maybe lowered the asking fee to something like £4/4.5 million. I'd have hoped for around £7 at least, but we might just want him out the door
