True, and in fairness, when Taylor went off, was glad Ange decided to bring on JJ, but at the end of the day, it backfired.

Aye I agreed with it and so did my 3 pals watching it with me. Ange said before the game that he wasn’t fit though, and it was clear when he came on he was nowhere near it, so the question becomes how much is down to fitness and how much down to performance?

Ange bringing him on, after seeing him in training, must have thought he was fit enough for it. In hindsight a shocking sub with our backup left back on the bench

It's no about Jura though, it's more to do with being positive with Berna and showing him that he trusts him. Big man could not have got it more wrong if he tried.

Definitely becomes an issue when Jura comes on and has that performance, if he came on and strolled it, it wouldn’t be.

Because he did though, it now becomes what is Berna’s reaction. He’ll play the next game, show the mentality to prove that he should have been the first port of call.

It's an easy call now though. Ange plays him and puts it to bed. Once Taylor's back they can compete.

Thinking about it playing Hatate at RB instead of using Taylor and Bernabei to cover the full back positions can't have been great for him either.

Putting Bernabei at right back wouldn’t have been any good for him either, and Taylor’s wee RB cameo even though he did ok showed it wasn’t a long term solution, he has zero right foot and * the full balance of the team up. Hatate had one blinder and one shocker there to cover before we got a RB available again. Don’t think that’d have been an issue.

It's more a thought. Suppose same could be said for Jenz or similar as they might be considered better defensive cover. Still think being the only FB option available and not being played, even if it is the wrong side, can't be the greatest feeling.

Don’t think many full backs would thank you for being played on the wrong side mate, if he flung him in on the right and he * it we’d be having the same conversation about that not being good for him and he shouldn’t have been asked to do it.

Possibly, as I say just a thought. It's not entirely unheard of.

Personally, I'm just as good a FB playing either side :fear:

If Jura comes on and strolls it, it still creates the same problem for Berna. I.E. Berna knows for a fact he is bottom of the queue.

Especially if JJ is wanting away, that makes it even worse. Why can Giakoumakis not buy a start in any game, even when Kyogo is out of form?

Has Jura been that good that he automatically gets the shout for either full back position if he is remotely fit? Even when Berna has shown that he has a bit about him going forward?

It is poor man management imo. I would not have any other manager in world football over Ange, but he is making some shocking decisions at the minute.

Think if he comes on and strolls it, he just thinks he’s put his trust in a guy that’s been there and done it and is one of the more experienced in the team. If he doesn’t have a shocker and the sub works, it’s not an issue at all. But when it pans out like today, he’s sitting watching one of the worst performances you’ll see in a Celtic strip thinking why wasn’t I trusted.

I get what you’re saying about GG and I’ve shared the frustration at times but Kyogo does have 15 goals in 18 games in the league. He got 12 in 20 last year.

It’s very difficult to give a proper argument with that being out of form.

Let's face it T, Jura is away first chance he gets. I reckon we all can see that?

If the right back goes off injured then fair enough, you put Jura on with no fallback whatsoever. But even without hindsight, the decision is to put young Berna in when GT goes off, it's an absolute slap in the face to the boy otherwise.

I disagree mate, Jura’s proven himself at LB a multitude of times including against that mob. If he comes on and plays a blinder like he has against them from that position in the past, it’s a non-issue.

Only becomes a knock to the confidence when he’s sitting watching him play *, if he’s sitting watching him play brilliant it’d just be ahh fair enough then.

Say you're right, just for talking's sake.

Does it benefit Berna when Jura * off in a week or two? Is it good man management with regards to a guy that is gonna be here bursting his balls to make an impact?

Could be, depends how he actually manages it in the background, man-management wise. What goes on behind the scenes with stuff like that is far more important than anything we’d see.

Berna will start the next game, we can judge by his reaction then.

Damage is already done mate. To me Berna has been told he ain't good enough to play ahead of a guy who is angling for a move, in his natural position vs a wantaway in an unnatural position. Pish poor if you ask me.

So if he comes out the next game, stamps his authority on it, has a brilliant reaction to go out and prove that he should have been the guy called upon you’ll still think it’s damaged him?
