You must be the only Celtic fan I know who does not think the manager has a soft spot/blind spot for Kyogo.

You don't like my opinions, well put me on ignore if they bother you.
You are not indulging me mate.

    You are trolling.

I don't really see him as an out and out striker. He misses too many opportunities.

I still think in some games he'd make a great no10/advanced 8 for us. With GG through the middle.

In saying that, his record is still fantastic. But * me he is frustrating at times.

He doesn't start Kyogo because of a blindspot, he starts him because Kyogo suits his system far better than GG. Both our strikers are missing far too many sitters, but Kyogo gives us far more off the ball than GG.

    How so?

The idea of wanting him sold is mental. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be looking to get better. We can have three strikers at the club.

He has lost a bit of his mojo and worse when he has no competition with GG possibly leaving.

The thing is though, if he scores a couple against Livi tomorrow he’s back to being the best striker since Larsson. Just the way us football fans are so fickle lol.

I agree, I'd like to see us play him in the O'Riley 8 domestically now and again, like we did at home to Shakhtar. Doesn't offer enough defensive cover, but that wouldn't be an issue against most of the SPFL sides.

On the other hand, his pressing and runs make him an ideal striker, so it's a weird one. He's the kinda player who has to play on the last man to really make the most of his movement.

He really should be hitting 40 a season easily with the amount he misses.

Last season he was something else. Hasn't hit the heights this season. Doesn't help that Ange keeps him on when it's clear GG is more deserving.

I can only think it's a mixture of favouritism and GG's contract situation.

Just sounded like you where against selling him but then wanted someone better lol

I’m not sure kyogo and GG would be happy being benched for someone and if we bring in someone who is more clinical then it wouldn’t make sense to drop the new guy to give everyone game time.

GG has missed numerous chances/sitters this year. To take the place of your first choice striker, you have to earn it. GG’s miss v Shakhtar at 1-1 away was his chance and he blew it. Big moments are what it takes to prove yourself.

That said, both need to stop missing sitters. Kyogo needs to start converting the chances.

I don’t think it’s enough to say he’s a leading scorer or he scores x in every y minutes. It’s about the chances he’s missing, if Kyogo is getting over 1 easy chance a game, then I expect him to score on average 1 goal a game. We create a ridiculous amount of chances, so it’s not outrageous to think that our top striker should score a ridiculous amount of goals for the season.

Hasn’t been the same player since he got injured against the huns. Never thought I’d say it but we need an upgrade imo. He’s had plenty of time to re-discover his form but he’s just not at the same level as before which is extremely disappointing given how good he was last season.

Kyogo Furuhashi has been given a classy comliment by Andres Iniesta after the Celtic forward's time with the legendary Spaniard.

While both were at J-League club Vissel Kobe, the pair struck up a fruitful relationship as one of the finest midfielders of this generation threaded balls into Ange Postecoglou'sJapanese forward before his departure in 2021. He's played with Lionel Messi, David Villa and several more at the peak of his powers at Barcelona, not including top talents at international level with Spain

Despite plenty of star-studded names, Kyogo is named by Iniesta in one of his favourite players to have featured alongside. Speaking to Yahoo Japan, the midfielder said the Celtic star is up with the best: “I had the opportunity to play with the best players. For example, Samuel Eto’o, [Thierry] Henry, Luis Suarez, David Villa, Fernando Torres… I had a pretty good connection with Kyogo (Furuhashi) in Japan.

The important thing is to get to know each other and when to unmark and make a pass, and the forwards strengthen the midfielders.” Since moving to Glasgow last year, the 28-year-old has made himself a Celtic fans’ favourite and helped win the Premiership title last season.

I think some of the judgement is harsh on him, granted his forms dipped, but he's a player that thrives on fast, direct football. When your playing against teams that sit with 11 players in their own half, that space is minimal. Again this is where needs to adapt his game to be more lethal, we've seen it in the past, even in the winter break. It'll come back.

A few near post runs might change his luck.

He got a lot of joy doing that last season. Dunno why he doesn't do it now.
