Agreed. The chances he can miss at times (and not just him mind you), they just don't have the patience for that in the EPL. That's not to say he can't improve and get there, but his current level of performance wouldn't cut it.

I'll see what comes out in the wash, but right now I wouldn't be particularly fussed if he was to leave. He does a job (sometimes), but he's far from irreplaceable.

A goal or assist in about 88 mins is some scoring rate. So for every 88mins he plays he scores or makes a goal, that’s not easy to replace. He doesn’t look like he wasn’t putting the effort in prior to the break at all. If he wants to go sell in the summer, once we have found someone to replace him.

That's coming from a Greek journalist so I would not put much stock in it.

Story got leaked when he was away with his Mrs.

To a journalist who was right in to the agent he had.

He came back to Glasgow and sacked the agent and got a new one.

    He’s going nowhere.

This sounds like the true story, agent speaking out of turn, GG talking to Starfelt, who then gave him the heads up about his agent. Then the rags in Scotland start their pish about this obviously means that he's not happy, new contract (again been ongoing for ages, celtic offered him a new deal he didn't ask for it). It's all what if's and might be's, typical Scottish msm trying to sell papers whilst rocking the boat. The rags up here have a long history of doing so and won't change anytime soon.

I said this when I seen the record saying he changed agent i thought it strange he himself saying he's happy at celtic and then his agent saying talks have stalled he then sacks his agent to me.that reads like he's annoyed his agent is making it harder for him and celtic and he wants to stay

CELTIC striker Giorgos Giakoumakis could be offered a life-changing move to Saudi Arabia after contract talks stalled.

The Greek international frontman penned a five-year deal when he joined the Hoops at the start of last season.

But after netting 17 goals in an injury-hit debut campaign then grabbing eight more this term, he is thought to be unhappy at no new terms being offered.

Reports in his homeland last week also claimed Giakoumakis, who recently turned 28, doesn’t like the Scottish weather.

With the Hoops unprepared to up his terms, a deadlock has been reached between the two parties.

New agent Blash Hosseini, who took over from long-term adviser Ioannis Emmanouilidis, has been charged with searching for new destinations for his client.

It’s thought oil-rich Saudi sides — who can also offer a better climate - have been attracted to Giakoumakis’ scoring record at the Hoops and with Dutch side VVV Venlo before that.

Sides in England and Germany are also thought to be keeping a close eye on the situation ahead of the transfer window opening in 18 days’ time.

Giakoumakis was a target for Werder Bremen before signing for Celts last year.

With so long still to run on his deal, the Hoops could play hardball and hold out for a fee in the region of at least £6million.

They are already earmarking potential replacements for Giakoumakis, with South Korean World Cup striker Cho Gue-sung high on their radar.

Giakoumakis could be involved when the Hoops return to Premiership action against third-placed Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Saturday lunchtime.

Ange Postecoglou's men warmed up for that clash with a 4-3 defeat in a bounce match with Ligue 1 side Rennes.

I would be looking for 8 figures to sell him in January. It’s an inconvenience to us to sell him mid season. He fulfils his role in our squad well, we would need a replacement that could hit the ground running.

Given Saudi or EPL aren’t short of cash I would want 8 figures to sell in January.

You know it's a made up rumour when writers have to use the term "doesn’t like the Scottish weather" with a non-british player :giggle1:

That is comical that number. I hope we don't sell the big lad next month but if we do I would say around 15m is much more realistic. He still has 4 years left on his current deal so the ball is very much in our court.

There isn’t a snowballs chance in * we get £15m for GG. We won’t even get 8 figures. £6m won’t be far off the overall number we get I think. Might be able to push it up to £7m or maybe £8m but that will be good business if we replace him with a player who gives us better options. Or is a significant upgrade.

Well personally I hope he doesn't leave as I really like him. But if he does leave in January it will be a to a team likely badly in need of a goal scorer and I don't see us selling for anything less then 10m plus. Time will tell I guess.
