We were regressing under Deila. Beaten by teams with a fraction of our budget.

I don't disagree mate, it was frustrating as *, but from Lawwells perspective trying to sign your identified players for the start of the play-offs when agents are probably holding you to ransom could be an issue.

    Are you for real?

One pretty glaring example is the fact we've already signed two players for the January window and it's barely turned December. We're now scouring the globe for players, as opposed to only looking within the UK and some parts of Europe. We've got a manager who understands the sort of club we need to be to keep making strides in Europe.

Anyone who has been paying attention the last 16 months can see we're moving forward.

For the second year running, we’ve done our winter business before the window opens.

Not just the fact we're signing players early, it's the calibre of players we are signing under Ange. Pretty much all have contributed massively and most will have a good sell on potential. No more banguras and bayos like we got under Lawwell. Too many cheap projects.
The * better not * this system up with his penny pinching.

Lennon, and even Rodgers signings were good in 1 out of 6-7 signings. Ange has a 90% hit rate. Im not defending Lawwell, but i can understand that he was sceptical when those managers was so useless with the money given to them. No chance that he will stop backing Ange.

Do you think a manager like Ange dictated to the board this before he came. Yous need your head seen to if you think this! The board are the reason for this new found positivity. They realized something needed to change after losing the ten and went for it. Nothing to do with Ange! No matter who came in there was going to be changes. The board aren't stupid men. If they didn't shape up after that * up season, they'd have lost the season book sales.

No it's nothing to do with Ange. It's to do with the players he brought in, and the way he's got them playing.

So really it has everything to do with Ange

I think Lawwell was a big part of the calamitous signings we made under previous managers, especially BR. If I remember correctly BR wanted to sign some pretty decent players like Castagne and James Justin and Schar and got none of them. Two of those players I mentioned he went onto sign for Leicester. Then there was the Mcginn debacle and the mystery of Shved being signed without managers knowledge allegedly. All points to Lawwell and his meddling. I get that we can't just go out and buy this or that player and there's budgets to stick to but it looks from the outside looking in that managers were perhaps having to accept 3rd or 4th choice targets. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows? I just don't trust the *.

Injury history aside in hindsight, our defence would have been on another level if he we did get Schar, Castagne and Justin.

Lawwell as our CEO without a doubt was ov reaching in his abilities and powers when it came to meddling in what players came into the club.

His absence in the role since Ange has come should help evidence that as we've been far busier, as well as, seemingly getting no.1 targets that Ange has been asking for bar the odd couple of guys.

Whatever influence he may have on club internally or influence externally - it is odd that those in power think bringing his name back would be welcomed.

Fans could barely accept his son being brought in such was the division Lawwell Snr caused by the end of his run as out CEO.

It’s almost as if Ange isn’t being forced to look to players at the bottom of his wish list.

And they all fit his style.

Remember Deila came in speaking about playing fluid, high-intensity football?

Yet the type of players ‘he’ was signing went totally against that philosophy.

Like who? Most of the guys he signed done it fine the following year under Rodgers, Ronny just wasn’t good enough to implement it

Everyone still talking as if Lawwell will have anything to do with transfer dealings I see.

Aye, Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay will be happy to have him come in and scupper transfer deals and send us back to being a * to deal with. It's only their own professional reputations on the line after all.

I’m looking forward to the answer to this, although I think your question will be “missed” lol.

I’m biased here but I think it was also a case of Ronny not being respected enough by some of the players.
