Well i’m trying to take a balanced view, he hasn’t impressed me against the huns albeit it not allot of game time against them and also hasn’t scored many in Europe, 2 in 12 group stage games and they where against Ferencvaros. So i’m not going hyperbole saying he’s the best Celtic striker since Larsson like i’ve seen some post. Nonetheless if people feel that way then that’s entirely upto them.

Im struggling to see the balance, or the basis, when the statistics say otherwise.
I see your point vs Rangers, id say thats the monkey still on his shoulder. In games vs them he maybe gets muscles out of the game and struggles when isolated himself. But derbies aside, he has been sensational for us and his goals and all round play shouldnt be underestimated. I think he could even take it to the next level with a sustained run of games and i think we have won a watch that he hasnt been chosen for Japan.

but in europe, i think to a man nobody played to their full capability and its harsh to single out Kyogo in that regard.

Haksa and Jota as well. I know they don’t typically play there in our system, but if you were rhyming off our best guys for playing a 10 type role, you’d have those two and Hatate (at least, probably O’Riley as well, as you say) before Kyogo would feature, for me.

There's a difference between professional physicality and the Huns physicality though... Against every defence in spfl, sure! In Europe, he's grand! Against hammer-throwing, steroid packed thugs, operating with full protection of the refs, not so much!

Don't think anyone who ACTUALLY watches him thinks he's a lightweight. But folk who're more media lead will get the Hun agenda that it's his fault that he's constantly fouled in their matches.

Definitely lost a bit of edge and sharpness this season.

He was similar last year at the beginning. Scored 3 against Dundee at couple against Jablonec but should have scored at least 6 v dundee and another couple v Jablonec.

As the goals started to flow his confidence got up and was better at taking chances (league Cup final being perfect example).

The issue for me is hes mainly played as a winger in Japan and he's not a natural striker so didn't have the finishing of a natural striker like a Hooper, Griffiths type

He did the same last year.

Folk, including myself, just gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was acclimatising himself and/or knackered.

However, it’s now clear his finishing cannot be relied upon - probably why he’s not going to the World Cup.

Good player, but not one who’ll take us to the next level.

Said early doors last year in this thread that he’d finish the season with 25 goals and it should be 40, this was before his injury. He’s a guy with good movement and sub par finishing

I dunno man, I still felt he was sharper and more threatening. Strikers will always miss chances and he did that last season, but I think he's doing it a lot more this term.

    100% agree..

He missed chances granted....but he was miles better with his overall play and his finishing..

He's nowhere near as good this season and I don't care what the stats say or about how many time's hes scored first for us..

No knee * but I'm 100% confident Ange will be on the lookout for a more clinical striker. We've still got a couple of good one's....but we can improve in that area I think..

I think teams have learned how to defend against him better where as last year he just burst on the scene with movement they’ve never encountered

He's on track to smash Dembele's goal tally here in less games and will probably top Edouard's tally if he plays the same amount of games. Not bad for a guy that can't finish and can't be relied on.

If we got a 25 year old Dembele in this Ange team he would be frightening and would probably score every game in Europe but we got him when he was still 19 mind. Come July Kyogo will have been at the club the same amount of time

Personally don't see Kyogo missing anymore than previously. He had some horrendous misses last year too. But some really important goals too.

It's his energy and running that he relies on to get involved.

For me we aren't getting the same number of goals from other areas of the park this year. That's a bigger difference for me than anything Kyogo is doing, or not.
