Oh right, I remember the story and it being trotted out over and over which I thought was a bit embarrassing.

Not great but good. I might be being too loyal to him.

 

He is a good guy and a decent keeper, but he is also a guy that has a worrying trend of form dips and confidence that goes with it. I really hope the upcomign World Cup break will gt his head clear and find that form once again. When he is on form and confident, it flows through the defence, but that currently seems to be not there.

Might be a good bit of man management from Ange to tell him to go have 2-3 weeks completely football free and not make the trip to Australia etc. Not because he doesn't believe in him, but just to get a proper break away from the game, find his form and focus and come back ready for the prepwork leading into the resumption of the campaign at the end of December.

 

It's definitely an area we need to seriously look at..

He's only naturally getting on and slowing down, quite noticeably around his box in my opinion. The reactions also go..

Been great and what we needed....but we should be scouting better..

 

Hes been brutal all season, so slow to react.

 

Was so so important for us last year but no room for sentiment. Come next year we should be looking for better, and I think Ange will feel the same.

 

Yeah we don't want a situation developing where sentiment starts to prevail over pragmatism.

That's what's causing all sorts of bother for the Huns. They should have patched McGregor two seasons ago.

I like Hart but a GK would be a priority going forward.

 

Obviously not all down to him, but the number of goals we're conceding this season is getting a bit ridiculous now. 6 clean sheets in 14 league games, if I'm not mistaken. Pretty dire, really.

Hopefully with Starfelt and CCV back as a pair, it'll tighten up. But Hart is looking very ropey.

As has been said, we desperately need to replace him in the summer.

 

Weirdly Hart is the one player I worry Ange might get that way about - not sure why. I hope he sees we need better and is ready to make that decision when the time comes.

I love him but he is visibly slowing down.

 

4 of those were in the first 5 games. Only 2 since 28th August - the 4-0 Sevco game & 3-0 Livi fortnight ago.

 

A new goalkeeper will be a priority in the summer. No doubt about it.
There is no sentiment in business. And Celtic FC is a business.

 

Thought we might have got next year out of him as first choice but now I’m not so sure, he’s been ropey as * now for the majority of the season. Thought Siegrist looked decent when he played but whether he’s a long term number 1 is up for debate.

Either way it’s an area we really need to improve on going into next season.

 

Tonight was the first time I've started to question whether he's still at a high enough level for us. Willing to accept the odd error and poor form, but tonight he looked absolutely finished.

Clock is ticking big man.

Still * myself laughing on the Real game, especially the valverde goal, some of the funniest and quite frankly absurd * I've ever witnessed on any site. Embarrassing, it's getting to the stage every goal is his fault, lol.

Tbh noticed on here goalies have about a season and then they're done, lol.

Fair dos a new goalie is maybe on horizon but still sure he has at least another good 1 or 2 seasons in him at our level anyway.

And for me siegrist could easily take-over, he should be given the gloves when Ange does want to change it.

 

Ropey as * this season but I'm willing to give him chance till May to prove us wrong.

Calm down Joe..

 

He's a big boy and has had a great career. EPL titles, multiple cups in England, CL appearances, Euro and World Cup tournaments, then last season with us.

I like Hart but we've got to be ruthless..

 

He's going down in installments now.

When that happens, a goalkeeper is literally finished. You can't hide it anymore.

I am leaning towards dropping Hart, and bringing in Siegrist now.
We still have a league to win and I don't think we should be taking any chances on it.

 

Some of that might be down to the alk out attacking style were playing now.

But he does make me hit the drink a fair bit

 

Agree 100% mate, guy’s been excellent, even the best goalie s make mistakes, guy’s like kyogo and big GG have made as many mistakes in front of goal if not more than hart’s made but bang in a winner and it’s all forgotten
