Hopefully we are not looking for a fee. I’d just get him off the books and invest the wage in someone else.

Worth signing for that challenge at McDiarmid Park alone. :84:

He’s not on £20k a week, there is no way we handed out a 4 year deal on that to him. You need to remember he was a free agent because his club hadn’t renewed, he wanted back up the road for family reasons and I doubt there was a lot of interest in him given his injury record.

We will be trying to move him on but the likelihood is it will be a loan to cover most of his wages for the second half of the season. I am just hoping the 4 year deal is very much the same as other deals we give out where year 4 is an option, like Bitton and Rogic was.

That'll be his Celtic career over. On the outskirts of the squad, barely plays. The progression forward will leave him further behind. Sad to see but at least his ability to deliver punchlines won't diminish!!!

Feel for him, never like to see any player get a bad iniury and he's had a fair few, not least of all that horror leg break.

Wonder if it will affect our ability to move him on in January.

Shame for the guy but just pay him off now and move on.

Not good for him but the silver lining for the club is there should be insurance to cover his wages in the event of injury.

Hopefully will force us to get a midfielder in this window.

I think we will get another midfielder in on January, regardless of McCarthy's unfortunate injury.
    McGregor still out too.
I would expect another defensive midfielder.

Most championship clubs pay less than us. The ones with higher paid players are usually ones who signed new contracts when in the Premier league and are still there as parachute payments cover them.

I'd prefer a high energy, box to box type as, for me, Turnbull and Mooy are too slow

Always going to happen I'm afraid

I said from the beginning that he would play less than a 100 games for the club,it's the story of his career

No we are stuck with an injury prone 30 something with three years left on a 15 grand a week contract

How do we actually know how much money he's on a week?

I think we could get both. Especially if there are departures.
    We need both I think.
And I agree Turnbull and Mooy are too slow.
But I like Mooy. He has his purposes.

Out of Mooy and Turnbull i’d keep Turnbull but i’d like an upgrade on both
