Disappointed for him but not surprised. Hopefully he can focus on getting physically and mentally fit during the break and uses this as fuel to fire him on to stick two fingers up to Arnold.

He clearly needed that break he took for his mental health, my main concern is that he rushed back under pressure for the world cup and is now in a situation that isn't good for him.

Fair few players out of Scotland in the Aussie squad.

Clearly shows me I give so little * about other squads outside of Celtic to not even realise that.

I'm genuinely gutted for the lad that he's missed out, but with the little knowledge I have...it does at least appear the aussie coach has picked mostly players who are actually playing more regularly than Rogic is sadly.

Presume he's referring to Rogic making himself unavailable for selection recently.

I’m also on the “he’s only got himself to blame”. Pulled out of the squad for the critical matches after missing out on automatic qualification - that in itself isn’t a deal breaker, but when you don’t get a club and are unfit with 2 weeks before the WC, it’s not really on.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m one of his biggest fans, but you can’t turn up to a WC with no game time and expect to play. If he’s not fit to play he’s not worth including in the squad.

Yes the boys who went to Scotland have done really well up there. Baccus played in the St Mirren team that beat us this year. He did well and I’ll admit was a surprise bolter.

For personal reasons that were serious enough for him to take a prolonged break from the sport altogether. Footballers aren't robots.

He pulled out of the squad for reasons that were serious enough for him to also take a break from the sport. Meanwhile his national team coach turned his mental health into a media talking point and publucally pilled pressure on him at a time when he clearly needed space. Which lead to him making a hasty decision to return to club football which was increasingly not in his best interests.

An appalling way for any manager to treat a player, but especially one that has flew to the back of beyond countless times mid season when he could have peaced out from his national squad long ago.

Not selecting him on his current fitness isn't suprising. But to say that a player has only their self to blame for taking time out for his mental health, even after he rushed himself back under pressure, is imo not on.

His mental health is his, it’s his to own, he made decisions, those decisions are the reason he missed out. It’s a pretty simple equation. If you don’t like the word blame, fine, but his decisions are what cost him his WC spot. Nobody else’s.

He made decisions for his health. If he had been struggling with a physical injury and had been out for that reason no one would be talking about him "only having himself to blame" that kind of language is part of why there is so much stigma around mental health still.

Because he said he needed to take a break when he left Celtic and his reason for leaving Celtic as stated by the man himself was that he needed to feel motivated again and he hoped a change of scenery would help with that.

To be entirley honest, as much as it will be a sore one, I think spending the break training with Carlos Corberan and continuing to focus on getting fit and getting to know his new manager will be better for him than the upheaval of flying off to Qatar to train with and spending time with that balloon Graham Arnold.

By all accounts Corberan is a very good and passionate coach with a great tactical mind. Exactly what Tom needs right now.

A lot of speculation from you. So why was the WBA manager quoted as saying that they thought he’d missed out on Rogic earlier in the window because Tom thought he had a better offer? It sounds like Tom was being picky about his new club/conditions and it’s location, which is his choice.

So he wanted a break from the rigors of playing at a high level for years. We all get that, but with the WC scheduled at the time it was, he had to know he needed to be playing and fit, the manager had made comment publicly because he wasn’t answering his phone calls.

I don’t like Arnold either, but I’m not letting that get in the way of the decisions made by Tom.

Corberan isn’t a bad manager, but he’s only been around a short while and has had some very mixed results.

Understandable, if gutting, that's he's missed out given the lengthy sabbatical. I think the biggest issue has been joining West Brom, who play absolute dogshit football.

Imagine thinking Steve Bruce was the man to get the best out of you as a silky midfielder that needs a licence to roam.

Some laugh that wee * 'cummdog' going to the world cup over Rogic :42:
