If you watch that entire episode then you’ll see Mills is a * of the highest order. Speaks poorly of pretty much every manager he’s had, probably mainly due to his own shortcomings. Whilst I do agree Rodgers comes across as a total weirdo I’m not convinced by that.

I just thought it was a funny wee snippet. No idea who he is.
For the record I think Rodgers is an excellent manager. I do think he has some looney tendances and maybe a bit narcissistic.
I also don't actually hate him for leaving even the way he did. Our board are horrendous and were not really interested in achieving any higher than we were.

Don't think its a coincidence it turns toxic at nearly every club he's been at. He was wanting out furing his second season with us I don't think it mattered if he was backed or not. He was always desperate to get back down south

Probably, it seems there's a couple of years of success then he needs to go. Leicester haven't really backed him lately though I don't think. I don't actually follow much English football.

I watch a lot of English football & I really don't think he is that good of a manager !!
He very rarely makes any substitutions that change the game nor does he change his formation to counter different styles of other sides. I think he is a bullshit artist that says the right things to the press & makes out to be smart.

He excelled here. Wasn't he good for a bit at Leicester. Maybe he just has good honeymoons periods...

The opposition Rodgers had up here was dreadful, as soon as he saw the Huns and Gerrard improving while we were stagnant....he * off at the first opportunity.

    He's a shitebag.

    I don't think it's that at all.

I think he(rightly) got * off with the way Lawwell was going about the business of the club and intervening on signing and basically decided he needed to leave. I don't think Leicester would have waited for him in the summer, so he made the decision to jump ship early, out the back door. I think we were all rightly * off when that happened.

You talk about the huns improving under Gerard but we were 7 points ahead with 9 games left in the league and they had just been knocked out the Scottish Cup. We were always winning that treble under Rodgers, Lennon just finished it.

Do I like how he left? No. Do I understand why he left? Yes.

He finished 5th twice, missing out on the champions league in the final game in both his first 2 full years in charge of Leicester. All while spending hundreds of millions less than the other clubs above him.

He's one of the best coaches in the world. That's not up for debate, it's factual.

Quite clearly see now nothing wrong with the boards approach and more wrong with his a winning manager can’t be backed with huge funds season upon season their need to be a slow down to then go again the following season he’s was impatient and not understanding he no accountant he would be suited at somewhere like city

I doubt he was asking for unrealistic targets. John McGinn should be here for not a lot of money.
He was likely sick of going into European qualifiers with makeshift back lines too(like the fans).

He didn't want huge funds. He wanted John McGinn at £2.3m.

Also, he never spent huge funds. He spent less than £9m in his first two transfer windows and got us into the champions league.

He spent another £10m the following year. Again, after getting us into the champions league and then finishing 3rd in the group, to get us into the Europa League.

The year he left, he missed out on the champions league but sold Dembele and Armstrong for £27.5m. He wanted John McGinn and ended up with Mulumbu. He wanted Pichini and Fabian Schar and got Benkovic on loan and Toljain on loan.

In total, he spent £33m in 2 and a half years, or 6 windows. He brought in £32.5m in player sales, while also bringing in about £60m in champions league money. The idea that he was backed with huge funds is demonstrably not true.

To put it into perspective, we spent £33m in 4 windows under Neil Lennon. He sold Tierney for £25m though, which was basically from Rodgers time as manager. He got us no champions league.

Rodgers should have been given far more money to spend than he did. The difference in the board now is quite simple. We don't have Peter Lawwell running the show and now have a chief executive who trusts the manager and the recruitment team to spend the money wisely enough. It's the CEOs job to provide them with a budget and for the manager and the recruitment team to sign the players, not for the CEO to buy players.

So it's a fact he's one of the best coaches in the world? Non-negotiable?

    You're hilariously overrating him

We were never getting Schar or other rumoured players like Castagne, they knew clubs who could pay them more would be after them. He put his mate in as head of recruitment and they struggled to find cheap gems. The recruitment team prior to that had managed it, and the current recruitment team has done it. He probably could have been funded better, but he could have spent money better.

I'm not disputing he could have signed better. I think he spent money on some absolute garbage. Schar had a buyout in contract for 3m euros. Newcastle signed him for that. Now, no doubt he was offered higher wages but the fee wasn't a problem. We had agreed a £6m deal with Sporting Lisbon for Pichini before he got a last minute call from Valencia. He decided to go elsewhere. He was on his way to Celtic before that deal fell through. Then you have the John McGinn affair. Embarrassingly bad from the board at the time.

The comments Rodgers made about the Shved and Bayo signings. He had no idea who these guys were. He was clearly being undermined at Boardroom level. Now, again. Whether or not he invested the money wisely enough is a different argument. I was disagreeing with the fact that the guy I replied to said he spent huge sums of money. He didn't.

I think it's a fact that he's a world class coach and one of the best in the premier league. Which makes him one of the best in the world, yes. I also think what he done for us, what he has done at Leicester has only cemented that. He's had a tough year or so but I expect Leicester will bounce back up the table relatively quickly. They're alreadu starting to string performances and wins back together.

I might rate him higher than some on here. The main difference is I've lost interest in hating on him. Do I like how he left or what he did? No. Does that make him any less a good manager/coach? I certainly don't think so.

It may be factual in your mind but very few people share your opinion.
Leicester have deteriorated under his stewardship !
He has alienated players & allowed his massive ego to upset the balance of the team.

I think he’s a top drawer coach tbf, in terms of someone who’ll go somewhere and massively improve the squad he inherits he’s up there. Where his problem lies, is the players will eventually see through his bullshit and arrogance and down tools, then his recruitment is so poor he can’t replace the unhappy players.

Think he’d make a great international manager at some point. Wouldn’t be massively surprised if he ended up as the England manager at some point, or maybe even Spain.

Then, he might have been attainable at a stretch, we paid 7M for Jullien. Even if he wasn't though, if you'll no take the targets that cost buttons like McGinn then what hope do you/Rodgers have?
