It is potentially. Involved in the buildup while helpful isn't the same as creating or assisting, which is what I'm talking about in refrence to Rogic.

First goal he passes to Hatate, who then creates the opportunity and passes to Ralston for the assist. Mooy was involved but he was not the spark that created the goal.

Second goal, great corner could have used a delivery like that last night.

Third goal - A poor attempt at a long range shot, thankfully Maeda was on it and there to collect the spill. It would be flattering Mooy to give him an assist for that but it did come from positive play from him.

Fourth goal, good pass to Abada who was then the spark that created the goal scoring opportunity and Taylor turning into a centre forward was there to meet the ball when it came to him.

If we are going to compare Tom Rogic unfavourably to a player, the player is going to have to be giving us more than being the player who passed the ball to a player who then created something. Rogic was the player creating the spark last season.

He’s absolute rubbish, but because he’s been shoehorned into the ‘classy midfielder’ category folk will sit and kid on they’re seeing what others aren’t.

He’s slow, timid, and Shakhtar were happy to give him the ball last night as he was never going to drive us forward with it.

Actually thought we looked more likely to score in the second half when Mooy and Forrest came on.

TBF, I put most of that down to the introduction of Jamesy... and that both teams were shattered by then - was like a basketball match.

    It's pretty simple.

When Rogic was on song, he was sublime. Unplayable. I agree he was great in his last season. He was also more skilful* than Mooy. But Rogic was only intermittently on song. He never dominated a league for an entire season.

Mooy not only dominated many games but he dominated entire leagues for entire seasons. The A-League in 2015 and 2016. The Championship in 2016-17. Yes, Hudderfield didn't win that season but their team was relatively poor — Mooy shone every game and hauled them up.

Still, that was a while ago. He ain't what he was.

    * Actually, this is debatable. Rogic had excellent dribbling and short passing, and at times freakishly good shooting. But he lacked Mooy's long passing, tackling and general game awareness.

Ronaldo is a few goals short of the worlds most scored goals. However he's old and turned absoloutely *. That far in the past means * all.

I think he’s a bit pish to be honest.

Reserved judgement on him but after seeing him for a while, he’s a complete nothing player.

Clips wee * balls round corners that any * in the world can do, and people kid on it’s as a result of some sort of additional vision that no one else possesses.

And he’s slow. By * is he slow.

I actually think calling him slow flatters him. My gran would beat him to the bingo anyway.

I think people get a bit carried away with him, he comes on against - lets face it, pretty pish opposition domestically and plays a few simple passes and folk start wanting to quote people who have doubted him.

He’s an experienced & professional guy lets not be kidded but he is slower than a week in the jail and is potentially keeping Abildgaard out of the team?

Generally speaking, if its a choice between two when they are fully fit.

I'd much rather see Turnbull coming on. He atleast showed on paper anyway, he can actually.contribute a fair share of goals and assists under Ange

We aren't talking about the player Mooy was, we are talking about the player Mooy is, you used present tense. As recently as last season Rogic was playing about the best football we ever has and would still be in that form if he had stayed with us and hadn't taken an extended break missing out on a pre-season. Mooy is never going to be the player you described again. Watching him trying to get the ball out of tight spaces last night was like watching my nan trying to parallel park. We are a weaker team for releasing Rogic )loosing his close control and attacking instinct) and bringing in Mooy.

Off the ball Rogic was not much faster than Mooy (though with the ball when fit he can move at a fair pace) but he compensated for that by using his brain, Tam had a knack for standing exactly where he needed to be to make something happen (see his goal at Ibrox, how many players would have bombed about that box, Tam just stood exactly where he knew the ball was most likely to come to him)

Has a decent turn on him but can't run away because of lack of pace.

Looks like he's running in treacle.

Definitely a bench player at best.

We need better in January if we are to move forward.

Fine domestically, not even remotely mobile enough for the CL, as I said before. He'll play a part between now and the end of the season but we need better for next year's European campaign.

No disputing he is talented if well past his peak, but we need to have at least a 2 goal cushion before brining him on.

That was my feeling last night. The introduction of Turnbull at least gave an other option for getting a goal.

More so… Abada was a wasted jersey and has been in most European games, like Kyogo too

Absolutely no comparison between Rogic of recent years and Mooy now. Largely irrelevant how good he was 6/7 years ago.

Andy mooy is a good player to bring on when you are two up to take the sting out of a game .not for dominating possession at elite level champions league matches. Tho would still rather have him any day of the week than bringing mcarthy on.Plus he looks like broony a wee bit from a distance so purely nostalgia reasons aswell.
