For those who are in love.....
We're just still far too naive for this level..

That's the kinda goal that side's concede chasing a game, yet we've been 1 up against the same side and conceded from being exposed on the counter when it was our own corner/we were in their third..

That's the difference in qualifying to some form of European football after Christmas and no.....that and no taking big chances..

3 times their players took yellow cards to stop us breaking. Not once did we take this option which basically cost us the game.

Absolutely we compete, we've had a ridiculous amount of shots in this competition and threatened seriously in every game. Our worst game was probably Leipzig the 2nd, but even then it was a competitive game for the most part.

Aye it's *, we were out of the champions League with 2 to go and out if it all with 1 to go.

If we had a fractional improvement in those first 3 games it could have been a different thing altogether, we've not been embarrassed in the competition and we've hardly been a walkover team for anyone. I'm not happy, don't confuse this for happiness at all. End if the day we have * it and lost. Didn't win a single match and are out. * happens that way sometimes, far too often for us as a club, we don't have the resources to realistically have any hopes of winning this contest, look at the last 20 years and see all there is to know for that. Porto are the only anomaly in the last 25 years against the crazy money teams, we still showed progress and that we can play at this level, we just need to improve that little bit more yet.

That was a performance lacking in quality tonight and I felt in the second half we somewhat ran out of ideas.

Mudryk is a class player but there are three players there he should never be getting his shot off without it being blocked.

Some of ORiley and Hatate’s passing in the final third was really poor tonight and I thought they both looked like boys needing a rest. Mooy has looked ok domestically but he never really offered anything after coming on there other than moving the ball on to a team mate.

Abada is out his depth at CL level, he is young and may learn to become effective but I would have had him off for Maeda to help double up on Mudryk either at half time or earlier in the second half.

Kyogo has to do better on his chance it was one of few good moves from us on the night. although I thought he done quite well on the ball and was always offering for a pass. It is actually something that could work well domestically where we face lower quality opposition. His ability to dribble past players and see a pass were good.

Haksabanovic is a find, he is such an intelligent presser and always actually cuts of passing angles. He didn’t have his best game in terms of his final ball but his movement and ability on it make me think he will be big for us. I wouldn’t have taken him off when we did.

I thought our back four and Hart were generally pretty decent tonight all of them had the odd moment, I didn’t think CCV or Juranovic done enough at their goal along with Hatate though.

This game much like the Leipzig ones for me emphasised we need another energetic CM to rotate with Hatate and we need a better option for right wing. Another striker wouldn’t go a miss either.

You should react with disappointment and refocus on performing better on the next game. You shouldn't be cheering and signing, come the * on. I reckon you'd see a lot of managers furious at that.

I can't get over the last 20 minutes. Fair enough sticking to a style but we should just be pumping iit into the box in all or nothing situations. It was infuriating to watch.

Disappointing result but we didn't deserve much more. Shaktar looked more of a threat from our set pieces than we did so not surprised that's where their goal came from. I thought we were slow to move the ball forward far too often giving them time to get behind the ball. 3 players let us down being way off form. Hatate was far too cautious with his passing at times, Oreily got into positions and covered a lot of ground but his final ball was poor and gave it away when a simple pass was on, Abada never got going, almost annoynamous. Ange didnt deserve that result and no European football, I thought the way he set the team up was what we needed but the players failed to deliver.

Everyone going on about how we competed and didn't give ourselves a showing up when you know if we're got the huns group we'd be on zero points there anawl.

Shaktar took two draws off us because that's all they needed to do. Every team we played took the results that the wanted off us. We might not have conceded as many as the huns but we've still been bent over.

People say to compete we need different signings? I say your talking *. We need to keep this team together. As they develop then we will get the results. 9th in chances created with a new team still developing and still young. Yes a signing or two of really good qaulity would help but it's all about developing them and keeping them together now.
