    When was the last time either didn't qualify for the Champions League and were in the Europa League?

    Once in the last thirteen years for Shaktar. Leipzig have only been in Europe for the last five years and have only been in the Europa League group stages once.

    Disappointing tonight but we’re still giving very good teams a game- we’re not getting humiliated like the huns.
    I would have liked better from this campaign but still think it’s progress for us in Europe.
    We were getting pumped by Europe league teams not long ago.

    I'd like to see our defenders stay in their own half sometimes :tongue1:, otherwise we get sliced open rather easy. I'm not too bothered being out of Europe as next year will be the last time we qualify automatically (I think) so winning the league this year is super important plus the blue mob are out as well. Having said that, bit of a crap game.

    Well said its hard but got to think of the ppsitives , it is just as disappointing playing really well and constantly getting SFA for it , than getting horsed as we all know it could be so very different

    Think once Haka and Kyogo came off so did all our creativity , it began to become awfully slow

    The proof of our failure this year is evident by those stats.

    We lack the self belief and courage to be clinical in these games. Our output in the final third is shocking, whether that's a missed place pass or a missed shot, we seem spooked when the opportunity arises.

    Competed in all 5 games just didn't take chances when they came along but its been a far better campaign in Champions league and even some Europa campaigns than over last 10 years. At no point have we looked outclassed or embarrassed which has kind of been the norm in recent years.

    Use the money wisely, improve area that need work and have another go at it next year.

    Why wouldn’t they? I think a lot of people expected us to take 4 points off them some even 6 yet that’s them pumped us out all together in 5 (4 realistically) games.

    They’re not a great side who have one top drawer player but we just didn’t turn up tonight.

    Hatate piss3d me off tonight, if he had stood up and made an effort to block the Ukrainian lad then maybe they don't score, instead he ducked away and stuck a pointless leg out. Great player but has that inconsistent element to his game. Too many loose passes for a player of his calibre.

    The strange thing is I think we have been far better than Roger's second attempt at CL even though we got 3rd. Feel we have at least challenged each game and had we taken our chances gone through. I'm also far happier than the 3 wins in the EL last season.

    Dunno if it s just my expectations are lower than everyone else or Rodgers 7-1,7-0 and 0-5 s spooked me but I’ve actually been fairly happy with the 5 performances so far, pumping teams 5-0,9-0 at the start of the season with nae Wednesday games, can concentrate solely on domestic dominance and a more experienced better crack at it next season, HH onwards and upwards Celtic

    And we are laughing at the Huns in Europe rightly so but we ain't much better.HH.coefficient down the drain already. Winning the league a must for CL group stages or we face 3 qualifiers in pre season * again.lol we never had pyschologists back in the day .after a * game jock would kick their arses take them to saltcoats and run them up and down * sand dunes for 3 hours. That usually gets through to the brain quicker than some sports science * saying visualise the ball .I'd visualise my boot in his balls alright lol .any way guys onward and upwards.HH.

    Tbf the draw keeps them in Europe(what we would like for us)so cant blame them,hurts like * to hear it but hopefully our players hear it and maybe use it to motivate them going forward.
