Few observations

1. Think Oreily and Hatate have been our best players so far.

2. Kyogo has looked very good in a deeper than usual position too but drifted in and out of the game.

3. Some of the passes Jens has played have been class.

4. Abada has been very average given the ball away too many times and his decision making isn’t great. I think if we want to progress in the CL he isn’t up to standard.

5. GG was average up till the goal, this may be an UN popular one ! I love his killer instinct but wish his all round play was a bit better

 

They say at this level you HAVE to take your chances - its pretty obvious that GG is our best chance taker -if he gets a chance he's vey likely to bury it - that should be enough to guarantee him a start in games like this - As good as Kyogo is he is nowhere near as reliable a finisher as GG

 

Kyogo deserves a champions league goal

Think Leipzig and Shakhtar's home performances against Madrid have shown that we kind of blew that opening hour out of proportion a touch at Parkhead. It's not unlike Madrid to perform poorly on their travels, especially in the group stage.

Regardless, really important we get the job done tonight. Sick of hearing about that stat about not winning at home in the UCL. More importantly, the squad could do with the belief and vindication a dominant result and performance over Donetsk will give them.

Hopefully one or two more goals in the second half to wrap this up.

 

Still on my first pint mate he started sloppy but was playing some good stuff as the half went on for me.

 

Mad how people see games differently,while i think hes improved as the games gone on i thought oreily was poor.

 

As long as Leipzig draw it would mean they’d need to go full strength in the game against shakhtar. A win/draw for madrid is as good as each.

Our delivery from dead ball situations is terrible.

 

Oriley started poor but started finding his touch last 20, that curling effort wasn’t far away at all

 

How the * has Hatate done that going off

 

Quite a lot of people suggesting Abada should be taken off- we all know he is capable of suddenly popping up and scoring and of course that is a great talent to have but come on FFS he should be doing more - As I said at the start of the game he is far too often posted missing in games like this

 

Abada will come good in the 2nd half. Quote me when it happens.

 

Much better out of possession, kept our shape well and kept something in reserve.

Love how at home Taylor looks at this level, was only a few months ago I was desperate for him to be replaced.
