To be honest mate I don't think it would've mattered if he'd chucked it early doors. Biggest problem was we had players not trying a leg cause they didnae get their move in the summer. A new manager unlikely to have changed that.

It never too late to learn and change approach …. But he’s too stubborn to even bother

Stubborn is a word that describes so many of our managers in the modern era. Pity Lennon turned out like that. I thought he had a great future after delivering us a win vs. Barcelona. He was 40 at the time, I think? Regardless of the disastrous season that led to his downfall, I think his approach to games against top European teams makes more sense than what Ange is doing.

Apparently NI wants him to be their next manager.

Surely not, I figured they'd just ask O'Neil back

Despite the fact I genuinely think you might be Neil Lennon, let’s for arguments sake pretend you’re not.

Did you see Dylan McGeouch’s interview during the week when he describes, in nauseating detail, Neil Lennon berating John McGinn for missing a penalty, in front of his team mates on the bus, and accusing him of deliberately trying to lose whilst playing for Hibernian?

One of countless examples of Lennon in his prime. We seen how he treated Mikey Johnston and Hatem el Hamed in public. What is he saying to Ajer, Christie, Eduoard etc behind closed doors?

We actually had that man in charge of our football team, discarding potentially elite managers’ CV’s in the process.

Irn Bru and ketchup all round, blame the players for everything, and not a style of play, or any hint of any professional standards to be seen. That’s our Lenny.

I’m * delighted we didn’t win the ten. Otherwise we’d still have that charlatan strutting about thinking he’s the man, disillusioning our young players by the second, signing garbage every window.

    * him, a million times over.

    * * mate. Berate players in front of his team mates? Seriously?

Do you think Stein or Alex Ferguson got ripped into players in front of team mates, * sure they did. Part and parcel of a professional players life I would say.

And if lennon was so * as a manager, how did he win so much with us.

Let's take Edouard as an example. He didn't try a leg and went from being probably our best player to being a liability in the space of a few months. And you honestly think it was what lennon was saying to him and not the fact he had spat the dummy for not getting his big move to the premiership.

Mate, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I get why fans blame lennon. But it's the level of hatred towards a man who served celtic well over many years and suffered in his personal life because of his connections to celtic, that is out of order.

Paul Slane likened Lennon’s first team canteen menu at Celtic to a ‘foods of the world buffet’ on the most recent Open Goal episode. Also said he’d moan if the chicken wasn’t battered in the stir fries.

Makes it even more funnier that the poodles were instructed to say we looked fitter under him than Rodgers (I realise this was post-Slane, but I imagine the diet would’ve been the same).

I can’t seem to remember even hearing about Alex Ferguson or Jock Stein accusing one of their players of deliberately trying to lose a game in front of their teammates.

If that was me in that dressing room I’d lose faith in my manger instantly, and would be much less willing to give him 100% and play through niggles and knocks for him.

That’s how professional dressing rooms work. Toxicity follows him wherever he goes. Right or wrong, the lack of application from the players in his final season is no coincidence. That’s all the players by the way, not just Odsonne Eduoard.

Our fitness peaked in the first season under Deila and Rodgers. We've seemingly had a lot of injuries regardless of who the manager was. Is this due to fitness or the training pitches, I don't know.

There was also the Mulgrew Open Goal when he said we lost to Inverness because half the team were hungover. Yeah they were allowed to go on a bender after the poty awards before one of our most important games of the season. We blew the league that night against Inverness in the 2011. The thing is he never learned from it . He was still the exact the same during his second spell.

Hard to blame the players for not being fully motivated when their manager was an unprofessional *. As @FrankMcCallum said, wherever he goes, the environment becomes toxic. It's not a coincidence.

Only have to see what Ange has done with Taylor and Ralston to see what a competent manager can actually do.

To suggest the likes of scott brown and calum mcgregor lacked application is wrong mate. I would agree there were clearly issues in the dressing room but the cause of that could just have easily been the want away superstars as much as lennons influence.

There were other reasons too, nae crowds, covid related absences and Darryl * Murphy. Mainly though, and you've got to give them credit, rangers had an unbelievable season which we're now seeing was a one off.

Anyway mate, I'm no going to change yours or the others on here opinions so we'll just need to agree to disagree.

So 2 players tried for him out of a squad of 25, yes? Impressive.

Two club legends who have a huge affinity for Celtic and would burst their balls for us even if they hated the managers’ guts.

You’ve still not addressed your bizarre justification of him accusing a professional player of deliberately trying to lose a game, in front of his teammates.

Totally blanked my comments as well about the players going on a bender being hungover for the game that cost us the league on 2011. I just find it weird that NL still so many stans when he couldn't give a * about any of us

Also, what's Daryl Murphy got to do with Lennon's second spell here? I'm lost.

Who said only 2 players tried for lennon? You were the one that said none of them did, which is quite an accusation against the full squad.
Tell me how you know the full squad didn't try a leg for Lennon?

I never tried to justify lennon accusing a player at hibs of trying to chuck a game. (If your sure that actually happened). What I said was that 2 of the greatest managers in world football used to go through players in the dressing room. In fact did ferguson no assault giggs at one point, might be wrong about that.

Anyway, you clearly blame lennon for everything that went wrong in his final season and are happy to accept as gospel any 2nd or 3rd hand account about how much of a * he was at our or any other club to suit your narrative.

What you've not answered is why, if he was such a useless unprofessional *, he won as many trophies as he did.

Murphy signed in the summer of 2010, so during Lennon’s first stint.
