Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Tried to watch it twice, what a load of .hite...........................Poor imitation of the Bigger Cousins, Very Poor!

 

I’ve actually enjoyed the last couple of episodes, but I thought it was hilarious that nobody thought to open the package to check that the blade was still inside. Terrible writing.

And it always does my head in in TV shows and movies when people somehow survive pyroclastic flows. They’re unsurvivable. You’re 100 percent dead. If you don’t burn (which you will) you suffocate. I get that it’s fantasy but there needs to be some semblance of realism or it just becomes a joke.

I think the show has a lot of potential, but they need to hire a decent writer and screenwriter. Some of the writing has been utter dog *.

 

And Adar is by far the most interesting and well acted character.

Probably the most likeable too, which is saying something.

 

The last episode (6th) was class IMO, all the characters/Factions coming together. Finally getting into it the good stuff!
You need patience with these big series as I've said before.

In one of the later scenes we see a balrog which look very much like the one in Peter Jackson’s movies for me this is confined as a prequel now to those movies … reason am saying is they tried to distance themselves from him but are happy to copy his version of a balrog

They need this last episode to be a 10/10 because the hype is quickly dying down.

Episode 7 was pish again.

 

I laughed out loud at the end when they put the ‘Southlands’ = ‘Mordor’ on the screen.

What a weird editing decision. It’s like they think their audience is stupid.

 

A massive chunk of the modern audience is extremely stupid, people with no attention spans that can't watch anything without looking at their phone every two minutes.

I thought it was really daft too, but there's probably clowns out there going wow what a twist!

 

Yeah that was laughable. Why didn’t they just have Adar say it, given he was in the middle of a speech about it anyway?

I just can’t get over how awful the writing is. Just had a volcano erupt and, typically, all the main characters who were engulfed in the resulting ash and flames etc have managed to survive.

Fair play to people enjoying this series but it’s painfully average TV. At best.

 

Stepped up their game for ep6 then crashed back down. Last episode HAS to be Solid. Watched the 'preview' of it by mistake, came on right after the episode finished.... Looks flat!

 

Just watched the last episode. Overall the show has been a bit pish but hopefully it's about to really kick off in season 2.

So far.... Meh.

The writing is sooooo bad. The overall narrative is excellent. Creation of Mordor, rose of Sauron etc. But whoever is writing plot and dialogue needs flenzed.

A:"You must convince your father!"

B " when I speak his ears close.:

*Music swell, actor pauses for dramatic effect, then grabs B's arm*

A "Then you must speak louder".

* woeful.

The plot and characterization are completely all over the shop. *Spoiler* and entire episode and half of elf boy trying to escape the clutches of the Sevco supporters, only to be "allowed" to leave. * was the point of the entire last episode?
Local herbalist is shy and unassuming, becomes William Wallace in the space of 30 mins.
Not to mention her idiot son with the rubber lip.

And we won't even talk about how Isildur is quite literally a manchild brat with the common sense of a boiled potato. How the * is this chimp gonna defeat Sauron?

Season 2 needs a serious upgrade in the writing staff dept.

 

I don’t have a problem with the Sauron reveal (it’s been obvious for weeks) but I really don’t understand why they had to pack the deception of the elves and the forging of the rings into a single episode.

Felt really shallow.

 

They should've revealed him to be sauron way earlier in the season to the audience so then you could atleast watch him manipulate people and and events from the beginning at the expense of everyone else until he gets found out so that the reveal felt deserved.
They shoe horned all his actual scheming into one episode so the reveal felt very flat.

Also I'm abit sick of how galadriel shows absolutely zero fear in any situation, like she's face to face with * sauron and she doesn't seem at all afraid just angry.

The writing and character development needs to improve dramatically in season 2.

 

As I've said before - painfully average.

I'll stick with it because I love LotR, but it really needs to improve a whole lot.

 

Underwhelmed by it all, hopefully it really kicks on in series 2.
