I agree that we have lost something about our play since the early stages of the season. We have lost our fluidity and need to get that back. That is form which can come back.
What I will say is that yeah, we all saw the group and thought it is far from as bad as it could have been, but that does not make it 'easy'
I think we have competed, but not taking chances and open at the back has been our downfall. That is for Ange to look at and considering what he has done since coming in, I am well prepared to let him work on that.

We had nobody to take the ball off the centre halfs and drive us forward. McGregor does that. It’s no coincidence that was our worst performance in Europe this season.

We are getting beat due to our tactics, they are there for the taking, but we are letting teams in time and time again.

We haven’t learnt from last season in Europe, it’s shown once again this season.

Why mention 5/6 points, we could have had 9/12 but we don’t. Why because we will not change our tactics. I’m not saying we should have 9/12 points but we should have more than what we have if our tactics had changed.

These are not cream of the crop neither are Shakhtar, Madrid aye I will give you that but RB lost to the same Zombie side we pumped.

I’m sorry but we should be doing better against both Shakhtar and RB.

Every count on here saying it’s 4/6 points against RB this was a good group etc and now cause we are getting pumped against, the cream of the croup etc.

Sorry not buying it, we have been tactically shocking and the way we have been set up clearly we don’t have the players who are good enough to make it work.

If that’s the case the. Change it up and have a plan B.

Same carbon copy fae last season we get hit on the break each time.

We won the league to get the 'free pass'.

Every one of those teams comes from a country where good players are much easier to come by than in Scotland. We can’t be a team like Sevilla or Ajax because they have great Spanish and Dutch players at an arms reach. We have Scottish players

What tactic is that? Creating good chances and missing them all?

And getting hit on the counter and conceding and losing each game…..

Like I said if we don’t have the quality of player to carry out this style in Europe then change is needed with the tactics.

The definition of madness, is doing the same thing over and over again not changing a thing.

Two European campaigns and we have seen the same results over and over again.

Our tactics created more chances for us than most Celtic teams have ever managed in Europe. We lost these games because we couldn't put those chances away because our forward players confidence is shot and has been since we lost our opening game 0-3.

... So why don't we make them better?

It's also not like we've not got talent in our youth system - McGregor, Tierney, Forrest. Then those who were part of our youth system - Robertson, Hickey. Then look at multiple youngsters who have been nabbed by other clubs like Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Leeds etc.

Admittedly it's not to the same level as those clubs but their recruitment and turnover of assets is something we should be aiming for.

Even if I take your point about 'natural talent pools', what about Salzburg or Brugge or Shaktar?

So doing the same thing over and over and it’s not working is not madness.

    looks like it to me.

Haifa don’t in their leagues basically a feeder league to us in terms of players copenhagen have a marginally better tv deal but we get better sponsorship money and bigger gate receipts and more tv money from champion league than them as Britain pays more for rights

We play high risk football and as infuriating as Ange can be with his tactics tonight there were plenty of chances for us. I thought seeing the team Ange was mental as we would be overrun- we were very open at times but it also led to us creating big moments. Maeda has to score in the first minute. O'Riley and Taylor both hit the woodwork and Kyogo misses a great chance putting that header over the bar. Big moments- fine margins. At the very highest level you cant pass these chances up or you will be punished

Ange has complete faith in his tactics- they have taken him to the biggest competition in the world. I do think he will have learnt a lot in this campaign and let's be honest we love Celtic and he has done a remarkable job. Tonight is a sore one but we keep going. Another match this weekend so let's get three points. We can look forward to the Shakhtar game and maybe give ourselves a chance, albeit slim, going into the last game.

    Pity we never got Souza.
It would have made all the difference.

Been wasteful since start of the season sounds mental me saying that because we beat Dundee and killie with margins but the Dundee game we should have been 14-0 up with the chances we had fs we couldn’t even finish properly with 15 to go to get that tenth goal

Another game were we didn’t take our chances. Not even going to read the negative * that will be all over this thread. Will be OTT nonsense. Yes it wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible, far from it. Created better chance and didn’t give them any easy pies either they scored a terrific header and after that we had to chase the game.

Let’s just * win next week and we can go into the last game with something to play for.
