It's his system that facilitates a lot of the chances we've created in Europe this season but not taken.

I don't think tactically there was a lot between the sides tonight. They didn't create a bucket load of chances, they didn't open us up constantly. But the two goals they scored were shots which Hart had no chance of stopping. Look at the chances O'Riley and GG had in the second half. One straight at the keeper and the other one fluffed out for a goal kick. The main difference is in the quality of the players.

Funnily enough tell tale signs have been there domestically, not just a problem in Europe in recent games. In fact hun game may have been the last game angeball theory worked to a tee.

We had more clear cut chances than them in first half if we score two it’s a different game it’s the tempo of the game that’s maybe catching the strikers out it’s ovb though it’s not working strangely it’s faltering domestically aswell

Missed chances doesn't cause us to lose goals, equally the poor passing loose balls from midfield have been diabolical

I feel for him a bit, he would make inroads in the other euro competitions with this team. CL is beyond his system and his players

The system fails because the players aren’t good enough for the level they’re playing at, as for their fitness levels, aim at that at the clubs * approach to every single department of a football club

Hatate's arguably been our best midfielder this season.

We have 7 forwards at the club. He signed 6 of them mate so argument that his system would work if only he had clinical strikers doesn't really hold much weight.
He should either of signed a clinical striker or at very least stopped playing ones that are off form

The problem, as others have said, is that the system requires a lot from players and they are out on their feet after about 60 mins. Ange makes the typical three subs, but if we're not well ahead by that point the last thirty minutes we look very succeptible to lose goals. In Europe that's suicide as teams will pick us off.

We need to be cuter and press at the right times, and give ourselves a breather at other times.

He has but equally the last few games he has been poor. Lost count of the times he lost the ball tonight then waited for a reaction from somebody else.

Clear signs of mental weakness in the forward players for me tonight few played uptop kyogo and Abada from memory who got wee niggles and basically used it as an excuse to get off the oitch

Do you think that's down to Mcgregor not being there that he's been poor last couple of games?

I think that has something to do with it but he can’t always have someone their to make the ground up to give you confidence incase you make a mistake needs to put his big boy pants on and suck it up

He’s not progressed since last year which is a concern same with Abada who’s passing and final ball should be whole lot better

I think so. McGregor is so instrumental to our build-up, and O'Riley doesn't have the same mobility to find space like McGregor does, so Hatate was dropping in a lot to help. It's not really his game though as he's more of a risk taker, plus he's very inexperienced at a high level, which lead to him giving the ball away a bunch.

Watching back those first half highlights, some of those misses were gutting. O'Riley hits the post and then Taylor immediately hits the crossbar. Kyogo totally unmarked in the box and heads over.
