An expected result tbh. It was easy to see away in Leipzig the difference in quality between the two teams. Tonight just confirmed that. Everything from fitness, passing, runs without ball and finishing they do better than us.

If Ange's system is to work in Europe we need players who can execute the tasks asked of them. Right now our squad falls short of that. It is plenty of potential in our squad though, so it's not all doom and gloom.

It's much easier to play football when you're ahead, you find more energy, but watching our play it's like we work to hard for everything and the breaks dont fall for us cauz we force play too much ,we need more composure .

If we are last by then…. Why send a team out to try and win anyway…

… it’s about domestic football now and reducing the injury list.

Ange and his team were not there for 8 of those years.

    Let him build this.

If Leipzig draw with them they will play their strongest team as they want best possible draw in the knockouts

If we would get the ball into the net for a change, we would still be in the competition.

Biggest mistake thought, was not winning against Shakhtar. It comes to hunt us as I feared.

And not being clinical enough hinders us to even get further.

Biggest problem is our conversion of chances. And not playing Real first would have maybe too. Wish we had Shakhtar's match schedule.

Maeda should have had 2 goals
    Kyogo 1

Their squandering of chances is getting beyond a joke

Hatate was simply awful and we could have been punished many more times due to his slack passing.

    Juranovic was at fault too.

CCV our best player by a mile.

The chances missed are quite something to behold.

O’Reily with a great chance and simply ponces it in the air straight at the keeper.

    Shocking waste of opportunities.

Ange is going to give GG a run in the team from the start. I love Kyogo, but he’s so off it at this level it’s untrue.

We also need to learn to shut up shop. I don’t care if we play swashbuckling stuff, we still end up with defeat.

I see your point, but Shakhtar have literally had to throw a team together that's been ripped apart and they are doing fine.

We seem to be cursed in European football.

No they`re not. Team fought and gave everything they had. Anger and frustration talking. I understand that.

Serious lack of composure in the final third from our players. Kyogo, maeda, abada and GG in particular with that last chance. Seems to be panic stations every time we get a sniff of goal

I agree but this team was assembled 12 months ago.

It is a work in progress.

We've made huge strides and I'm expecting to do so in Europe but this season has obviously come too early.

Atmosphere at home to Donetsk is going to be flat as * sadly. We’re out of Europe with 2 games to spare, usual *.

There is one problem here, the best players he has will start to look elsewhere next year. And the cycle repeats.

When the dust settles we need to keep in mind this is a team which is a work in progress. First time most of these players is playing at this level we can only improve.
