Daizen Maeda

I said it last season and will say it again, he will get us important goals and change the game, but for me coming off the bench he is more of a threat.

Was * awful again today.

 

Very good at certain aspects of our game but very limited in others.

Against teams like St Mirren who are going to be compact and sit deep, he will be very ineffective.

He lacks the quality of a Jota, Abada or Haskabanovic who can skip past a player and unlock tight defences.

 

On a big field will benefit, but tight pitches not so much.

Still think he's a valuable asset who's workrate can cause problems.

 

He shouldn’t be starting ahead of Abada or Haskabanovic that’s for sure.

 

I can't take to him either. He scuffs too many shots and makes a hash of his headers.
All I can see is a running machine with a faulty end product. He is not good enough
to be a first team starter.

Not really. I've got my favourites too, just like the rest of us.

 

Just been booted off KDS from what I can see. Sussed out on there.

 

I like him but I'm not surprised he's getting a bit of stick. We were all aware last season that he's missed chances but in between those he was grabbing a goal or two. He's proven he has something to offer but any player who misses chances in consecutive games is going to be questioned, and there's no doubt Daizen is in poor form.

 

Not exactly much of a barometer with that bunch of "carrots"

Definitely offers something but he ain't a first choice.

Madness starting him against a team where there isn't space for him to exploit.

Good at closing down, can't finish.

 

For me the issue is that Maeda and Abada both want to get in the box, Maeda offers the better work rate and Abada the better finisher but both like to attack the back post when the more creative winger on the opposite flank draws players to him and creates chances.

For me Jota or Haksabanovic, need to play one one side and then the others can offer something from the opposite side. Another issue is Jota, Haksabanovic and Maeda all prefer playing on the left, Abada is a bit inconsistent so we don’t have a nailed on starter really for the right wing.

Maeda wasn’t firing on all cylinders this season yet but was at least getting assists and I had hoped the goal at Ross County might have perked up his confidence but he’s missed some chances since then.

 

I got banned for a week for exercising my right of reply to two KDS guys who called me a Hun. I just said attack the post, not the poster. I don't know why I got banned for that. They got banned for a week too. Maybe just a cooling off period.

I like him, but he better find his shooting boots soon or I can see him turning into an annoying *.

I'm happy enough out of it mate. One of the guys that called me a hun twice E Jack Thaler, posted I was gone the exact same time the mod Fatboab said I was banned. Put two and two together, the guy that called me a hun was the same mod that banned me, how else could he have known ? unless he was another mod. ?
I've been told the mods have about 20 logins on KDS.

His commitment and drive is top level, just a shame most other aspects of his game are no where near the level they need to be. Best coming off the bench when opposition defences are tired.
