I'm gonna go with what the people who have seen him play have to say, rather than your problem with short centrehalfs. Cannavarro and Baresi achieved in football, because of their talent, not because they had bigger guys covering for them. Why would a manager play two CBs, where one had to carry the other? It's illogical. You haven't seen the guy play, LeoneNakaFan, so why not reserve judgement?

 

That's what i like to hear - from someone who has (unlike me) watched him a lot over time.

cardiff city website says his height is 6'2. and to be honest i thought he was tall when he was playing against us.

 

if he was or is such a no hope short * .. as some have have inferred .. how the * did he survive and be recognised as a quality player in the championship league ,. cos they kick the crap out of ya in that league ..a lot.

also what a coup to get ur third target that just happens to be the huns MAIN hope of replacing cuellar ..and to out manoeuver the huns on the both sides of the deal .. business and football . gj lawell and wgs .. again

 

i've just had a wee look at the cardiff game on channel 67. there's no way the guy is 5 foot 9. 6'2 is much closer to the mark

Just checked out a pic on the back of one of the tabloids. He's shaking hands with JVoH and looks about an inch shorter. Where did this idea that he's short come from?

 

Well celtic through the 60's and 70's had a tall and short cb Billy McNeil and John Clark

And it is said McNeil did the ariel work and Clark cleaned up on the ground

So i would say short and tall cb work if you get the right pair together

 

but we havent bought a new short centre back. thats the point

 

i know that but just saying to correct leone naka fan that the partnership of short and tall can work

Is he any better than what we have, and if he is i imagine not a lot!!! I watched him play against us and thought he did quite well, but that doesnt tell you much as we were no good! The only players we should be buying are ones that are going to be STARS in the team. We should be going for a CB a LB and a striker all better than we currently have!! not players than are going to compete for a jersey but undoubtly the best player at the club in their position to push us up to another level. We are simply not good enough at the minute and the quicker we realise that the better. 2 or 3 great!! players in our team in what we need!! our left back centre backs (mick more than Caldwell BTW) and strikers are not good enough, we got by last year, just!! we have the money, the players are out there, we need to act. And no more nipping in ahead of the huns at the last minute snatching players from the huns we have our own targets, the ones WGS obviously had pinpionted, go out and get them and spend the cash if necessary. Not best pleased so far with our captures and why we cant push that bit further when we have pinpointed and individual!!!

 

Fairly underwhelmed at this signing.It's a bit of a comedown after being linked with Tamas and Basa.He was blantantly our 3rd or 4th choice and that is never a good sign.Doesn't seem like there's been much scouting involved either.I hope I'm wrong about him but this signing hasn't put a big smile on my face.
