If the tables like this after matchday 5 then we're in the last 16 aren't we. Better head to head vs Shaktar so they can't go above us even with a win.

Edit. Madrid would be absoloute idiots not to rest there entire team on the last game where they are through and have important games within the next week... crossing all my fingers n toes.

That table is without an update on the *Leipzig vs Madrid* game though mate.

Madrid most likely be through and guaranteed top spot by the time they travel to Leipzig which could put Leipzig on 4/6 points instead of 3, with one game left.

If we get a draw away to Leipzig and Madrid beat Shakhtar home and away we are in prime position to qualify. Even if we lose away and beat Leipzig at home and Madrid beat Shakhtar home and away we will still be in prime position.

    Slept on it..

More upbeat today after initially being * last night at no getting the 3 point's..

It's deffo still 2 point's dropped for me and a missed opportunity, but we're without doubt making massive strides..

Avoiding defeat in Germany would be another big marker. Would fancy us for second if we can do that..

I think we will get third at least now. Honestly think we'll do Shakhtar at ours..

My worry is given how little points ourselves, Leipzig and Shakhtar could be on Real May rest players away to Leipzig too.

We definitely need Madrid to do the business against Shakhtar twice and avoid defeat to Leipzig, ideally a draw and a win.

The issue is I suspect we will face a better Leipzig than we have seen so far. Last night was a big missed opportunity, where we could have got away with two draws with Leipzig then beat Shakhtar and likely have got to last 16.

I just hope we can keep the performance level
up and our finishing improves along with a bit of luck.

Proper confident we'll go over and get something in Germany. I see no reason why we shouldn't be. Can't be expecting a result, but if we perform like we have but take our chances they'll struggle to live with us.

We're getting second - stating it now.

we needed that 3pts to put the pressure on leipzig .now if we lose in germany and sitting bottom at the half way point its gonna be a struggle to get 3rd spot nevermind 2nd. that result was good for shaktar and leipzig .

I don’t see Shakhtar getting any more points. I think they’ll be beaten home and away to Madrid, I think we beat them at Parkhead and I think Leipzig will beat them in Warsaw. So I sort of see it as us being a point ahead of our rivals for second spot. Not a bad place to be really.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
The next 2 games it goes without saying dictate how things land.

Realistically I would expect us to beat shakhtar at home, get a draw at home leipzig, lose the other 2 and get 3rd spot across the next 4 games.

game weeks 4 and 5 will dictate how it ends up, but there is zero doubt in my mind that last night will cost us 2nd, and currently if we get 3rd I will look at it overall as an opportunity missed - but I’d take it now in a heartbeat.

I also believe in Europa no * will want us.

Arguably the most important adjective is keeping European football on horizon after Christmas plus league win likelihood to retain manager.

To me, that is more important than any isolated game or final cl placing.

Ange cannot be replaced in terms of ethos - his departure would be horrendous as anyone new in would take months to change the way we play. The league remains priority.

the ease with which shakhtar scored last night is the worry though if we need the wins at home we are sitting ducks for the counter as we would no doubt be throwing everything at them ,draws may well suit them both if leipzig fancy a shootout on matchday 6 . think our next game is pivitol in avoiding all that we need a win ,would of prefered it last night but * it 3pts in leipzig will do

That result means if we win our two home games coming up, and Real win their games, we’re through.

We should have got 3 points, but that’s a good result because it’s in our hands. If we do the same thing in Germany, even if it’s major frustrating, I’ll be delighted still

Think they have had 6 shots on target and 5 goals so far, * are clinical. And that Mudryk who scored, they knocked back £35m odd from Arsenal for him. * a player.
