Hopefully be up around the 60minute mark and bring on a Mooy or Abilgaard as DM and GG to hold the play up and win fouls up the park, Be interesting to see if we can see a game out now we have specialist players in that midfield position.

 

Have a strong feeling Abildgaard will be an absolute star for Celtic this season. This an amazing squad we have now. It looks more like a squad Ange would take to the World Cup, all the positions are covered with at least two players of equal ability.

 

Styles make fights, as the saying goes.

Shaktar and Leipzig are different games. It really depends just how we approach these games.

If we play loose and open, because we’re not playing against Madrid, both shaktar and Leipzig are more than capable of beating us.

We need to show both of them plenty of respect, and get our tactics/shape right. There’s no easy games or soft teams at this level.

We've had a great domestic start. But we still have it all to prove in Europe, based on what we saw last season.

Getting dumped out by FC Midtjylland & Bodo/Glimt, who play in front of crowds less than 10k every week, isn't exactly European elite stuff tbf.

Our overall record away in Europe last season was played 7 - won 2 and lost 5. (and conceded more goals than we scored)

Some people are going a bit over the top, based on a decent showing for 45mins against Madrid. If we go into this Shakhtar game thinking we're big time charlies then we certainly will get done.

Do you really think Shakhtar will be impressed by our 0-3 loss to Madrid? They'll know we're a dangerous team, but that's about it. They'll be confident after the start they've made. We need to be very wary of their threats.

Almost true, We play like we did against real we will get beat regularly on this level. We need to play like we did AND learn to hit the target and take the few chances we get, of which their won't be many at this level.

 

We need to be so much more clinical when chances come our way. It’s been a huge problem for years now in Europe. We’ll get chances on Wednesday but we need to start taking them.

 

Working for this

 

Correct, they will be few and far between. We are playing the best teams their countries can offer, so any comparison with our successes in the SPFL can be put to one side.

This is another level of football we have to deal with because we are dealing with champion sides, just as we are.

We have the passion to play, we also need to have the guile and the intelligence to take a lead and also win the game.

 

If we have any ambitions of advancing from the group stages we need a point or three away from home against Shakhtar or Leipzig and win the rest of our home matches. Wednesday would be a good day to show our intentions.

This. We really need points from this game to avoid being rock bottom imo. Now RB have a new manager they suddenly look world beaters. Need to get ourselves on some points and after loosing 1 home tie already we must take points away. This needs to be that game.
