Greg Taylor

Because Taylor more than most has struggled in Europe previously. He was roasted badly by the Bodo winger let’s not forget.

As I said I’m a huge fan, stuck up for him when he was getting a hard time every week.

 

Can only pish with the * you have got if he was to play bernabei he might get up the park better but he won’t be a better defender than Taylor

Not saying for a second I wouldn’t play Taylor He’s probably one of the first names on the team sheet just now, just pointing out he has previously struggled with the step up from domestic level to Europe, and this is a completely different level to previously too.

Not singling him out as quite a few of our players have got nowhere near the level the show domestically in Europe, but Taylor is probably the stand out one.

 

Thought tonight showed why we need a better LB in Europe, he just wasn't quite up to the standard. He's come along way but I don't ever see him getting to that level.

 

Come off it, we were facing the European Champions, the boy has been excellent all season and was fantastic against the huns. Don't even think he was particularly bad tonight.

 

Thought he was fine tonight.

 

Thought he was outstanding tonight tbh. Didn’t look out of place at all.

 

Was up against it all night. Had two of them running at him constantly with their overload. Not much he could have done.

 

Thought he did really well tonight. Always offering himself up for a pass and never really got done one-on-one.

I don't think it's controversial to say he's a step behind the rest of the squad at this level. I'm not placing the blame on him for tonight but they exploited the right side for a reason. I think we were all hoping Bernabei would be a step up but it is what it is. If you were going to target an area for improvement, this would be it.

Some of our fans just have an unrealistic set of expectations for the team.

This post just proves that when certain fans have it in for a player, they absolutely will not alter their opinion, no matter how much evidence is provided. They will wait their time. 8 months of sublime football - not a peep. One questionable performance - told you he wasn't good enough! Laughable.

He's improved signficantly from where he was 2 years ago and fair play to him for that. Against the teams in the SPFL he rarely lets himself down. But he's not still up to playing at this level. He's nowhere near Juranovic, which is why they shifted to going down the right. I don't know what else you want me to say, it's true and everyone knows it.

 

Is he? Again, he looked fine tonight, you're just picking on a easy scapegoat.

I'll repeat, he's been excellent this season, argubly in our top 5 players so far, and his first Average, I repeat, Average, not bad, game is against the European Champions.
