Strolled it like he has pretty much done every sub appearance. He will get plenty game time this season.

Thought he was outstanding, much more like it.

Work rate, game intelligence and passing all on point.

Been critical of him and what he can bring to the team but he was class tonight. Going forward if he's brought in to play before big games and give players a rest then I'm happy about it. Ange was right again, dunno why I doubt him (that doesn't apply to the Australian posters on here, they can * off :fear:)

Proving to be a shrewd signing already.

the Australian boys on the forum seem to have been right once again. He was fantastic tonight and was great when he came on the other day. He looks slow but he always seems to be in the right places so it doesn’t seem to affect him and is hard as nails in a tackle.

I hear his singular failure is his ability to identify ironic comments. But that might be true of all Australians :39:

Although possibly not you though :50:

    Nay telt yez from me.

I got sick of that in the Ange thread.

Just enjoying the ride, but he'll get better. Class is permanent...

Fan of Mooy but my concern with him long term at Celtic is he is not the archetypal Celtic midfielder. He is neither one to make his physical presence felt in midfield by tackling hard, winning the ball and snuffing out attacks, nor is he a creative, attacking player that will rack up the goals and assists, or even dribble at defenders. He is best described as a stabilising influence in midfield with good close control, sound decision making and excellent passing range. Time almost seems to slow down when he is on the ball, he can single handedly dictate the tempo of an entire game. Mind you those attributes saw him forge a solid career in the EPL, so in terms of raw quality he is definitely capable, but in terms of applying it the SPL especially a helter skelter fixture like the derby I'm not sure fans would appreciate his almost lackadaisical approach to football. I think he'd be at his best when paired with Mcgregor in midfield, Calmac doing the graft winning the ball back etc and Mooy pulling the strings from deep.

Pretty sure I mentioned this earlier in the thread...

Probably the best tackle I ever saw was Mooy on Griesmann in Russia. Absolutely brutal but completely fair.

Controlled the game except for a spell at start of second half but got back into it.

Fantastic run out by Albert Mooy, but he still has a few more levels to go. We’ll know he’s there when he pings one from outside the box.
