CELTIC new boy Sead Haksabanovic has declared he is available for selection for the cinch Premiership match against Rangers on Saturday.

The Montenegrin winger, who signed a five year deal with the Scottish champions last week, has not played since back in May when he was on loan at Djurgardens in Sweden.

However, the 23-year-old could make his first team debut in the Premier Sports Cup tie against Ross County in Dingwall tomorrow evening.

And Haksabanovic is eager to be involved in the world-famous fixture against Rangers at Parkhead this weekend and help Celtic to win and move five points clear of their city rivals in the league.

I’m good to go,” he said. “It’s up to the coach. It’s going to take time for me to adjust to the system and the players. We will see.

“I haven’t seen a full derby game, but I’ve seen videos of it and stuff and know to expect a great atmosphere. As a Celtic player now I’m only thinking about what we can do in the game.

“We are going to do everything to win. But we are trying to focus on every game. We’ve got Ross County and then we can look at the Rangers game.”

Haksabanovic added: “I have played in the Stockholm derby (between AIK and Djugardens). There were around 48,000 fans in the stands. It was good. In Sweden you have a lot of fans.

“But I don’t think it is the same as here. I would say the craziest atmosphere I have ever experienced was when I was on the bench for West Ham against Spurs for the London derby.

“But I am ready. Now it is just up to the manager about when he wants me to play. Yeah, I’m ready.”

I'm guessing he's been brought in cause he's versatile and can cover anywhere in the forward areas or CAM.

Don't think he'll score much, he only managed 1 goal in 20 games at Rubin.

Stats like that can be deceptive. Going by the stats Jota scored 1 in 17 for Valladolid. Kazan got relegated I believe so I doubt anyone was playing well, there's only so much you can do on your own,you need others to be giving you service or creating space for you.

We'll just need to wait and see how he is for us, but I suspect Ange sees something in him which would indicate he'll be an asset to the team, whether it's scoring or assisting. Hopefully both.

He will create lots of goal scoring chances. That's his strength imo. Have not really helped him that he has played for teams having 4-5 attempts at goal a game either.

He will come good! He has never found a club he could call his home. If Celtic become that club, he will fulfill his huge potential.

He played centre mid a lot for Rubin, and, like others have said, there are lots of other reasons why someone might struggle to score in a relegated side.

Ignoring Rubin's cup run Haksabanovic didnt play in for a fairer perspective, Kvaratskhelia was their main man at left wing with 2 goals in 19 games in the league. He's currently doing alright for Napoli with 3 in 3.

It's not a guarantee, but I'd strongly fancy Haksabanovic's output to be much higher here given he's in a better and more dominant side that imo I think he looks a good fit for.

Jesus, imagine we'd signed him as well. Tom Boyd would need counselling.

I'm not I think he'll be good, just doesn't have a great record as a goalscorer.

His game is about goals and assists. There’s nothing wrong with his record except he had a quiet year last year in a new team where he was playing in a new position.

    He’ll be excellent here.
