I love Jackie and been calling for him to get a run. I love Kyogo as well though don't get it twisted..

When Kyogo’s on form like that though he takes it away from Jackie and he's our number 1. Easy to say after a hattrick I know but it's more than that. The press. The movement. The link up play..

He's easily number 1 when on it. Jackie's still top drawer. A bully. A beast. A great one touch finisher. Foil. So different. Causes havoc..

I was wanting GG back in the starting line up but apart from Wed he will have to stay there for a bit longer. Kyogo definitely getting back to his best and hopefully more

Furuhashi hat-trick spurs Celtic to 9-0 rout of Dundee United
Hat-tricks from Japanese star and Abada help set Scottish Premiership record for biggest away win

GLASGOW – Celtic thrashed Dundee United 9-0 as hat-tricks from Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada helped set a new Scottish Premiership record for the biggest away win on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side ran riot at Tannadice thanks to the trebles from Furuhashi and Abada, as well as goals from Jota, Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt.

The Scottish champions’ biggest win since defeating Aberdeen by the same score in 2010 broke the previous record for the largest away margin of victory in the Premiership era.

Celtic moved back to the top of table above Rangers after their fifth win from five games.

“We knew Dundee United were going through a rough spell and they were probably a bit vulnerable today. We got on top of them early which allowed us to play our football,” Celtic manager Postecoglou told Sky Sports.

Turning to his hat-trick heroes, he added: “Kyogo is such an important part of what we do. It’s not just his goals, it’s the way he harassed the opponents … Liel is a fantastic young player and everything we’ve asked of him in the last 12-14 months he’s just taken every challenge.”

Dismal United’s worst home defeat means they have now conceded 23 goals in their last four matches, including a 7-0 loss against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa Conference League third qualifying round second leg.

“Humiliating and embarrassing, that’s the only way to describe it,” said United manager Jack Ross.

“You shouldn’t lose a game by that many goals, you shouldn’t lose a game in that manner of performance. Every ounce of criticism that falls on my shoulders is deserved because, from a personal pride perspective, it’s really sore.

“In terms of that humiliation and embarrassment the players should feel that way, because that’s the way I feel.”

Celtic started the demolition job in the 15th minute as Furuhashi slotted home from Jota’s pass.

The floodgates were well and truly open from the 40th minute when Japan forward Furuhashi swept into the top corner from 22 yards.

Celtic went for the kill and scored a brilliant third in first-half stoppage time.

Abada squared for Furuhashi to tap in after a flurry of passes cut through hapless United.

Celtic weren’t finished by any means and the fourth goal arrived just before the half-time whistle as Abada got in behind and crossed for Jota to net from close range despite United appeals for offside.

Half-time brought no respite for Ross’s side and Matt O’Riley squared for Abada to knock home in the 50th minute.

Juranovic drilled home five minutes later after O’Riley’s free-kick had hit the wall.

Celtic’s seventh goal came just before the hour when Jota found Reo Hatate and the Japanese midfielder squared for Abada to knock home.

Postecoglou brought on four substitutes and Abada dinked the ball home after Daizen Maeda had helped on Aaron Mooy’s lofted ball in the 77th minute.

Starfelt headed David Turnbull’s corner in off the post four minutes later and the Celtic fans chanted: “We want 10”.

Do you know what’s scary, the way he was today, if he got another couple of passes he could have had 5 or 6 himself. That was some performance from him.

Elite, world class, game intelligence and movement.

His ability to create space by being inactive in an offside position then coming alive on the 2nd phase is second to none.

    Intelligent as *..

Knows being a short guy he'll get roughed up so his clever movement, standing offside, means they can't even get close to him..

His movement in and around the box is genuinely world class, he’s a defenders nightmare when there’s any space.

2 of his goals today he starts in an offside position and then in 2nd phase of play he’s on and in miles of space. Such an intelligent player, not to mention his work rate and link up play.

This part of his game is Messi-like. Genuinely. I can't think of many other players in world football whose movement in the CF position is based so much around exploiting the "offside" space.

Striker wise maybe he needs a few big game goals against either huns or against a significant opponent in Europe to over take nakamura for me

Desperate for him to get a goal against the huns next week. Feel like he hasn't had a proper go at them in his favoured position.

He'll tear Sands and Goldson a new hole.

Kyogo Furuhashi sets Celtic goal target and makes remarkable finishing admission after Dundee United rout
Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi refused to be sated with the nine goal haul in his team’s demolition of Dundee United, on a day when the striker and team-mate Liel Abada both bagged hat-tricks.

A win of a magnitude that the £4.7m 2021 summer signing from Vissel Kobe had “never” experienced in his career, remarkably, the failure of Ange Postecoglou’s men to take the scoring into double figures had Furuhashi maintaining there is a need for Celticto brush up on their finishing.

Important as they now face a week-and-a-bit wherein they are away to Ross County in the Betfred Cup on Wednesday, confront Rangers in the season’s first meeting between the title rivals three days later, and embark on their Champions League campaign by hosting Real Madrid in 10 days’ time.

“We certainly had more opportunities,” said the forward, who has now scored six goals for the season. “We need to improve our finishing quality although we have the confidence from scoring nine goals. It is the result of our football and what we have been working on. We are happy with the result, but we still have a lot of things to do.”

Furuhashi confessed the Madrid meeting was “motivating” for the Celtic players but the 27-year-old has his own personal goals - in all respects - that are pushing him on to make life impossible for defences. “My teammates always provide me with good passes,” he said on being asked for a goal target. “The first aim would be 20 goals and then I would like to reach 30, and more.”

Order is still the King, Lubo, Naka, Tam and Kyogo for me. Like you say a few more big game goals in important moments he could easily move up that list. What a signing he has been, he gets bonus points for how much he riles up the huns just by existing. Imagine the meltdowns if he gets a goal against them. Think they would take a goal from GG on the chin, but Kyogo would finish them.
