I liked big Julien as a player other notable performances included the 2-0 at Ibrox at the start of 19/20.

Both games vs Lazio defensively, in fact most of the Europa league campaign that season he was excellent. The away leg on Copenhagen when the team went to pot second half along with FF he kept us in that, Ajer and co were all over the shop but the big man won nearly everything that came in our box.

Losing him for so long and just getting him back before the serious knee injury had a big part to play in us being terrible in the 20/21 season I feel. Not the only factor far from it but one of them.

To get any fee for someone who hasn’t kicked a ball in 18 months is outstanding business.

Dont get the hate for the big man, always liked him and he had some great performances for us, bad injury just wrecked him.

    Wish him all the best!

Obviously taking a heavy loss on this one but sometimes that’s just football. Injuries, no game time hardly in the last 18 months and obviously struggling to get through the medicals any fee will have to do. When he’s fit he’s a very good player he just wasn’t going to get back to that here we don’t have the time to try and get him match sharp especially when we have got 2/3 pretty solid pairings at the back now.

It’s not a 6 million loss in any case. We have had a few seasons out of him, his transfer fee has been amortised over the period of his contract.

If we had bought him for 7 million he never played a game and we sold him 6 months later for 1m now that’s a 6m loss.

He has given us good moments and we get some kind of fee for him and get nearly 1m a year off the wage bill. That’s a huge plus rather than focusing on a 6m loss from the media.

The big injury during the pandemic really killed his Celtic career which is a shame as he gave us some great memories during the previous season and was looking like a decent signing. But clearly this move is best for him and for us. Hope it works out well for him.

I think it was worth the fee anyway in the first place, he was a big part of the quadruple treble season and if it hadn’t been for that injury in Lennys last season might of helped big time.

£1m is a bargain for Montpellier, if he can keep fit he’s a very good defender but just now he’s bottom of the pecking order by some distance.

Best of luck to him, Was a key part in some huge wins.

The fee will go towards jenz so I see it really as a straight swap and jenz is only 23

Happy days, he seemed to be a bit of a downer around the place for a good while there. Not what Ange needs while creating an environment, as he puts it.

Grateful for the good moments he's given us over the years but there was only one way this could have went. All the best ya big greeting faced * :84:

Good luck to him, hope he can get back on track. He won a treble with us, was fantastic in Europe against Lazio, scored the winner in a league Cup final. While I think there no longer is a place for him, I'm glad we signed him.

Good luck to him. Gave us some great memories, unlucky with the length of that injury and never seemed to recover.

£1m plus add ons is good enough for me.

Some great memories but hasn't kicked a ball in 18 months and is one of our higher earners.

We need these types of players to move on for whatever we can get so we can move forward as a club.

    Next - Ajeti.

Sad to see him go to be honest. But we are sorted without.

He was a quality CB for us in his day, that days just been too long ago now due to his injury.
No hard feelings to him, hope he find his form again.

Getting any sort of fee is good, considering how long he's been sidelined, and to get the wages off the bill is also great.

Don't imagine we will be going out to sign anyone else to be honest. Welsh will now likely not be going out on loan at all.
CCV, Starfelt, jenz, Welsh - 3 good CBS and a 4th choice development. You're not gonna sign another first team CB that's gonna settle to be 4th choice.

Amazing watching them clips and realising just how big a turnover of personnel we've had in such a short space of time
