and barring injury he won’t be. He’s still a good player who’ll be important for us throughout this season though.

I thought he was pretty poor, better than O'Riley but poor nonetheless. In the last three games I don't think he's done anything that warrants starting over Hatate from now on. His touch is good and his passes are usually accurate but his lack of urgency is frustrating.

He's a good cog to have in our squad and brings composure to our play. But I'm not sure if that deserves a place in the starting eleven most weeks.

We had a good chance of a break in our own third by the main stand and he * an outside of the foot pass and was hooked within about a minute..

He’s been poor last few games, I don’t think our midfield works with Turnbull and O’Reilly in there, they are too similar and want to take up the same positions.

Soon as Hatate came on you so immediate pick up in intensity, making the deep runs and going past players.

Not been overly impressed with Turnbull so far this season. Hatate would come back in for the DUTD game next Sunday for me.

I feel with him that he has missed a real opportunity to claim a place in the starting 11.

He’s not been great but far better than O’Reily who has had a poorer start to the season. I think it’ll come for him, he was out a lot of last season and prior to that, his contribution was excellent.

I think the mistake we made was going back in for him after he got his long term injury/operation. I don't think he is cut out to play for Celtic. If anything, we should have signed the other Motherwell midfielder Alan Campbell instead, he looked a better prospect to me at the time.

He's definitely not hitting the levels he can just now and need more from him. But he's a good player. He's got some well highlighted flaws and can be frustrating at times but anyone that thinks he's not cut out to play here after a few poor early season games is a fruit loop.

    This.

O'Reily hasn't kicked a ball yet this season, yet Turnbull seems to be the scapegoat at times.

He was neat and tidy enough today without being spectacular.

Did you see his stats for last season prior to the long term injury??? If not go have a look. In a team that was bedding in his contribution was exceptional. He suffers from the same thing Taylor suffered from, bought from another Scottish club and because he’s not foreign deemed to not be good enough.

I like both him and MoR, but I don't think we will be able to carry both in bigger games in Europe. I'd have Hatate in over him at the moment just considering he's right footed as well, which will compliment left footed O'Riley.

Was poor overall, Reo will start ahead of him but always a good option from bench

I think Turnbull should be competing with O’Riley for the most advanced midfielder position rather than Hatate.

If we do sign anyone beyond Haksabanovic I would like a midfielder that was a 6/8 type, with a good engine. They will have to be good on the ball too but I do think someone in that mould would complete our midfield options.

Mooy- the older head experienced and can read a game probably mainly playing as a 6.

McGregor - the captain and again either starting as a deep lying playmaker or as the 8 on the left hand side.

New CM - a bit of an all rounder, good mobility but still technical enough. Can make driving runs from midfield but has the energy levels and pace to get back in during transitions.

Hatate - starting as either the 8 of the left or perhaps even worth playing him as the furthest forward CM on occasion

Turnbull - more competing for the most advanced midfield option, capable of going beyond the striker and adding goals from in and around the box.

ORiley - again being a creative player off the right centre midfield position. Also getting into the box when attacks occur on occasion.

Haksabanovic - can be deployed as more of an out and out playmaker, with dribbling and passing skills.

McCarthy and Ideguchi I don’t see a long term future for here.

    Perhaps.
But I don't rate Turnbull, never have. For the money he is getting paid each week, I don't think we get a good return from it. He is not my idea of a central midfielder. He is so one footed it is unbelievable, he can't run, he can't tackle, and he does not score enough goals.

I would take the first good offer that comes in for him and reinvest smarter in the team.

Did he not have the most assists prior to his injury last season? Was he not the only player that had started every game too?

Scored more goals than your boy Aribo in 15 less games across all competitions. Haven’t seen you say anything positive about Celtic.
