What a lovely day it is, and I'll bet you're all wearing smashing blouses.

A tenner to whoever gets the reference first.

Don't worry mate, I'm not questioning Mooy's ability!

You genuinely are an absolute brass neck at times. Like listening to an insufferable wine taster or art critic.

Trying to hype up a basic, bog standard pass as if it was some stroke of genius.

Mooy was (and maybe still is) a good player. A very good player for Australia and Huddersfield.

He’s not and never was elite, no matter how often you try to convince everyone else.

Yeah Mooy is pretty much a spare parts option. He's no defensive mid he'll get found out when he is required to tackle someone.

It ain't 2015 and yeah he did nothing special last game and likely won't his whole time here,

I guarantee he will let the team down the first time he is genuinely needed.

He's just one of those players that managers bring in to be on the fringes because they know they are on the manager's side. A lot of politics in football every coach needs an ally. Especially with * like McCarthy sooking.

Mooy is just being signed as a big * you to the guy who signed McCarthy and to McCarthy himself. That will be the last time some board member signs a player.

Mooy is I think a good and shrewd signing and he will get even better as he gets up to speed again. Trusted by Ange to do what he says on the pitch, he can be our midfield general in the centre of the park. I think his vast experience and know how will be pivotal in the Hun duels and Europe, taking the sting out of the tempo of these games and controlling the direction of play. We will get a good return for our money in the next two years from Mooy I feel sure of that.

jeeez this is a big thread over someone who has hardly played more than 30 minutes of football. i have been following Mooy since he made his debut for the WSW, and i loved him from the very first time he touched the ball. in his prime he was an absolute joy to watch, honestly i was mesmerised by his touch, movement and his unbelievable range of passing. Unfortunatley time waits for no man and he is not the same player that he was for WSW, Melb City or Huddersfield, do i think he will be decent enough for Celtic.. yes i do, he will do exactly what Ange brought him to the club for but he wont dominate games like he would have 3 or 4 years ago.

yeah I think he will be a decent player, my understanding is that he won’t be a DMF and that more likely will be brought on to see games out and will replace Oreilly or Hatate rather than calmac and probably will be ideal in Europe as we lost the leverkusen game due to not having someone to come on a slow the game down

I remembered my joy when the transfer thread finally closed. Little did I realise it was only the beginning...

Mooy never was a Postecouglou favourite when he coached the Soccerros Postecoglou kept him out of the squad until he could not be ignored at Huddersfield. Mooy will be earning every minute.

It will definitely take time, his football in general play is very boring, but effective. But then he scores or creates goals from nothing. It'll take time but i think he'll be worth the effort.

Funny thing is, this signing has made me think that McCarthy signing while not completely Ange was approved by him at that time in some part, because there was times he played McCarthy like he’s used Mooy in these initial games. Even end of last season people were asking why he was bringing McCarthy on rather than Ideguchi who was needing minutes.

Wrong.. He picked him regularly when he was playing for Melbourne city.

Which is a completely separate point than him needing to work for his place when he was NT manager is it not?

Load of *. He was signed specifically because he can help us control games (in a likely upgraded role to what Bitton filled last season). Nothing to do with politics or sending messages to McCarthy or board members or some other fantasy nonsense.

He did play him at times early in the season when he was down to the bare bones. But I can't remember him featuring after January except for the final game when he played just to get a medal.

Nup, nup nup. He could not control a * through an s bend. Dm has got to be able to tackle. He's a cheap option to shaft Jim bob until they buy a real dm.
