He was always dogged despite his relatively small stature. It irks me when fans act like this is a trait he has just developed.
He also has a cracking engine and gets up and down. Sometimes thats more important than just being quick in itself as speed is ultimately hindered without stamina.

To replace Tierney was too big an ask but the fans should remember that Tierney left a lot better a player than the one that broke into the first team.
Taylor might never reach Tierney levels, but he can still do a lot of developing and become a top left back in his own right.

He enjoying a really strong start to the season and watching his improvement is very enjoyable. He really has been up there amongst our better performers this season so far, which is tough because we have started to strongly.

Last season I felt we needed better at the LB position and I will be honest, despite his amazing start to the season I think the real guage of his improvement will be in the bigger fixtures to come, especially in Europe.

Still a great start to the season and he looks set for a brilliance ant season

The system definitely works to his strengths. He struggled before when we were expecting him to be someone that could get up and down the wing, skin a player and get balls into the box. He doesn't have the skill or pace to do that for a full game against decent opposition, what he can do very well is take the ball under pressure and lay it off early to guys like Jota and Maeda who do have the skill or pace to skin guys and get the ball into the box.

He is never going to be a KT type of full back, but I suspect he may actually be better than KT would have been at playing this system.

Yeah, definitely suits the inverted role rather than as a traditional full back in an attacking side as its covers his short comings and plays to his strengths. Doing really well atm!

Agree Europe will be the acid test and my worry is Ange’s system in Europe will be exploited more and Taylor will become a scapegoat as he will be out of position when the opposition turn the ball over.
Hope Ange has an answer fir this.

Think he's been excellent the end of last season and the start of this one. Delighted to see him doing so well. I thought his performance yesterday was great, would have been MOTM for me if he hadn't made a bad mistake - there was a point he played it inside straight to a Killie player in a very dangerous position.

I started to like him after his goal v the Huns in the cup.

I don't know why but it made me really warm to him, practically to the extent that I felt bad about wanting him replaced or upgraded on.

My position at the end of last season was, I actually like him but I want someone better, he can do as a squad player.

However there's no doubt he's been excellent so far, genuinely very impressed with his improvement.

Hope he keeps it up, would like to see him have a great game in Europe.

I love that Jota one there, and I love Jota going out his way to make sure Taylor got credit as well. By all accounts he’s a major leader in the squad on and off the pitch, guys like Jota would think he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. That’s a sign of brilliant team spirit for me though, and think that’s down to Ange making sure he has the right characters in place just as much as the right talent.

Is that 105 touches per game? That’s * impressive.

Been immense today, getting involved more than Calmac which is quite something.

Confidence is now high as he’s starting to take shots rather than playing it safe

Apart from that brainfart where he gave away a corner, I thought he was excellent again.

He took a sore one in his face from an elbow by Shankland, but he was immense again today.
His confidence is sky high just now.
