What he was saying about his injuries was pretty interesting, sounds as if they know how to prevent it but i guess time will tell.

Definitely not one i’d give up on

This is a great post. What happened to him in those games was, quite frankly, a disgrace.

A manager proving a point by hanging one of his players out to dry.

I personally think his time has come and gone and simply don’t think he’s good enough, however he was certainly not managed properly and his confidence must’ve taken a battering from those dreadful selections.

Willing to give him a chance if he can recapture the electric start he had in the 2019/20 season. Difficult to see happening though.

I doubt he is on massive wages so it doesn't really hurt us to hold on to him until January to see if he can stay fit, then look at loaning or punting if it's still not happening. He could be a big asset for us if he can stay fit and get his confidence up though.

Between now and Jan its make or break for him, hope he makes it but have my doubts sadly.

Don’t think he’s good enough, fit or not. However, I’d be willing to be proved wrong. Give him to the World Cup starts and see how he gets on. Focus on another striker and keep him as a place on the wings

    left side- Jota/Maeda/Johnstone
    Right side- Abada/Forrest/Jota

Looks like he's gonna get another shot at it this year. Suppose he's 5th choice behind Jota, Abada, Maeda, Forrest.

How many homegrown players at club do we have in the first squad that are over 21? I think it's McGregor, Ralston and Forrest, with Johnston and Welsh being under 21? We need 4 HG at club registered for the Champions League, and 8 HG in Scotland. This might be why Mikey is getting another shot.

TBH, I like our youth being given a chance.

Johnston is 23, Welsh is 22.

It is the Forrest and Johnston bit of our winger options that worries me. Given the number of games we need to play just to get to the break for the World Cup we need at least four able to contribute regularly at a good level.

Jota is great and my only concern is we over play him.

Maeda once he got going is a very different type of winger (more a wide forward) but a good option.

Abada has spells where he is brilliant but also spells where he is invisible. Hopefully with another year under his belt the brilliant comes through more consistently.

Forrest has been a good player for the club but injuries and time seem to have caught up to him. I am sure he will be fine against lower level SPL opposition but I wouldn’t feel confident about him against much else. He looks a yard slower and his pace and directness were his biggest assets. I wouldn’t want him to be relied on for any length of time.

Johnston his fitness is a big question mark. Even when fit his decision making is poor. He has a lot of ability but needs a run of games to gain experience and see if he can handle being at a club like Celtic, I am not sure he can.

Johnston isn't going to displace Jota. But what he can do is give us an option or backup for Jota when needed. He certainly has talent and not being called upon every week is likely a positive with his current fitness issues.

We need that sort of depth so definitely hoping Johnston can help in that regard.

This might not be a bad shout. It's unthinkable that he'd still be in and around the first team if he was anything other than homegrown.

Standard Liege on loan. Needs to go and play somewhere there is no point in him staying here this season.

Ronny Deila will fix him like he did Forrest.

    A great move if true.
