Scholes is a great example. Like I said Matt strikes me as the type who would be on top of his health at all times so hopefully won't hold him back. The pyros and smoke bombs fans insist on letting off during matches worries me more tbh.

I * hope not, but... Yeah! Distinct possibility of getting an old 'Godfather' bid...

He's just cruised up the level step up we gave him last year, and shows no signs of losing momentum from it... Could see a mid-table EPL team throwing in a high teens bid in January if he stands out for us, and performs well in Europe

    January sell surely?

Personally think he'll stay at least another season, possibly 2, but if he can continue his form sure plenty will be interested.

I said a POTY standout and next summer sale, I’d be surprised at a January one though.

A nailed down Denmark player by then though, and a belter of a World Cup, then absolutely could see it. He’s absolutely driven to make the best of himself, he’ll go if he thinks its best for his career.

World Cup Final is Dec 18th.. January window opens as normal?

It will be busy, especially for those who shine there..

If O'Riley has a good CL and makes WC then we may get some silly bids for him.. with an EPL tax added..

He's absolute quality, hope he stays for another season or two but think we'll struggle to hold onto him.

We're in a strong position regardless..

The kids a complete baller, such a good around player. Just needs a wee bit more work on the set pieces, although in saying that it's not the delivery that's the issue, more the movement in the box.

Matt O'Riley admits Blackburn Rovers were a nasty team to play against - but insists that's exactly what Celtic need ahead of the Premiership campaign.

The English Championship side scrapped their way to a 2-2 draw, picking up four yellow cards, during a competitive friendly at Parkhead. Blackburn took the lead after just 21 seconds through Sam Gallagher, before Jota and David Turnbull put the Hoops in front at the break. Ben Brereton Diaz then curled in a free-kick midway through the second-half to level the score as the visitors avoided defeat.

It was a spirited contest which left right-back Anthony Ralston, a second-half sub for Josip Juranovic, requiring stitches to treat a foot injury. However, O'Riley believes it was ideal preparation as the clock ticks down to flag day against Aberdeen on July 31 before the Champions League group stages begin in September.

The Dane admitted: "Blackburn were feisty and a bit nasty. They left a bit on a few of us. Tony Ralston's boot was split in half, but it was competitive and that's what we want.

"We have to handle that because we'll come up against teams in the Premiership who will kick us to try and stop us.

"But if we're on it with our counter press and we're crisp on the ball, the rest will take care of itself.

We haven't looked that far forward to the Champions League just yet, but we're already putting plans together in training with how we'll set up when we play better opposition

Jota put in a man of the match display as the Portuguese sensation left the Parkhead faithful purring with his dazzling skills.

O'Riley admits the former Benfica winger is a pleasure to play with as he heaped praise on Israeli attacker Liel Abada, who also looked threatening down the right hand side.

He added: "Jota isn't bad is he?

Even as players, we enjoy watching him. Everyone enjoyed his piece of skill in the second half. It's still early so hopefully he can keep raising his level. We trust our wingers to produce something in every game and I thought Liel Abada was really good as well."

Starting to get into some really good forward positions now.
