Oceania is the weakest qualifying region, not Asia. But you're right of course, Rogic has had the superior career.

As for who's the better player, it's not that clear cut. They're different types of players, but I think people could be pleasantly surprised with Mooy. Not that it should be surprising - a couple of years ago this guy was holding his own in the Premier League and only really left for money.

It's also worth considering where supporters thought Rogic was at before last season and the effect Ange's management had on him. One of his best seasons for Celtic yet. Trust the manager.

Once he's signed, can we call his thread Mooy the Bhoy?

I did assume it was a financially motivated move. The concern is based on the level he’ll have been playing at. However, hasn’t Ange ruled this one out?

Rogic is my favourite player full stop. I even stuck 18 on the back of my 6-a-side jersey this season.

But I am in the 80%.

He appeared to have distanced us from a move for him a few days ago, but a load of new rumours sprung up yesterday so who knows.

Maybe we are just using his name as a tactic with the Argentinian team to show we will walk away from our offer for Vera and go elsewhere for all I know.

I'd question where he fits, to me he does not take a starting role in the mid 3 so therefore is not one to significantly improve the team, I'd be happy to be wrong but I'd rather we sign someone else

Fair enough. To me this signing makes sense, from a playing point of view and I’d guess his presence here would garner more Aussie interest in the club.

There's already plenty of that. Celtic were already a massively followed club in Oz before Ange came. Now Celtic makes the mainstream news quite regularly.

You originally brought up Indonesia/Jakarta though when it's already been shut down that Rogic is going there. It was literally pointless even mentioning it.

You then tried to say that Ange didn't want to resign Rogic. When you were told that wasn't the case, Rogic wanted to leave, you went on some mad spiel about Rogic going to Jakarta.

Someone then pointed out to you that one of the reasons he wanted to leave was he wanted to be closer to home. I'm then assuming you tried to have some form of sarcastic response, with regards to Jakartas "* airports and delayed flights"...

Also, not to nit pick but you weren't "inferring". You were 'implying'.

Finally, the bigger point was you stated Mooy has had a better career than Rogic. Had you come on here and said "Mooy is a better player than Rogic, I think he could do well here", you probably wouldn't have gotten so many responses. It was just a ridiculous point to make because it simply wasn't true. If you think a guy played 3 and a half seasons in the Premier League and playing well for some of it is a better career than a guy winning 17 major honours in football for a team who has one of the largest supports and histories in world football, you shouldn't watch football.

Finally, we need to stop this "I'll go back to the start of the Ange thread and see what you said back then".... this is completely different. I don't want Mooy, I think it's a waste of a signing, I think he will be on decent wages and I don't think he's going to play all that often. I'd rather we signed someone else who's younger, has resale value and can develop. It's not to say I don't think Mooy could be successful, I hope he is. I said I was disgusted by the signing simply because I think it's a lazy signing. A guy who's barely played for 2 years, at nearly 32 years old when we seem to have been linked with some really top drawer talents in Michut and Vera, both young guys who have been excelling the last couple of years. Are we investing in Mooy for a year as a stop gap so we can get a player in the Defensive Midfield position who's physical and commanding and another centre back in? I don't know. I guess we will have to wait and see but we already have a couple of guys who don't play as much, McCarthy and Ideguchi, who are sitting on the bench. I'd rather we tried to get the best use out of them than going and spending wages on someone like Mooy.

This would be underwhelming to say the least.

I'm sure he'd have a better effect on pitch then say McCarthy had offered....but we should be signing more long term options for the wages someone like Mooy will likely be after. North of £25k I'd assume.

We should be doing better really. But if he signs he absolutely gets my support to go on and do well for us.

Apparently a 1 year deal with an option for a further year. That sort of thing eases my mind to be honest, very low risk. I heard he would have been moving to Scotland anyway so maybe salary isn't super high either, he just wants minutes in a fairly decent sized club to make sure he gets picked in November.

Good signing on a free , age is why I’m a bit unsure but certainly has the ability , can play the 6 role and his passing is superb so our forwards will get good service. Think a lot of people are underwhelmed as he’s not a Brazilian/Argentinian or 23 year old. Will be a good squad player and I expect him to play a fair amount of games , I said earlier rogic replacement but I think possibly bitons. Can’t always be making 5/6 million pound signings , the free market is decent and there was a lot of good teams still looking at mooy

A one year deal makes sense. Still wouldn’t say I’m chuffed about it, but there is very little to no risk attached with that.

He's only 31, unless his fitness has fell off a clip I think he'll do a grand job and we'll all be wanting him signed up for that 2nd year.

Did seem the all action player.

This and a cb and I think thatll be an excellent summer of signings.
