Isak and ibrahimovic before him ahead in the team for his position. Then just behind those in the other positions he can play, kulusevski and Forsberg. Sure I’m missing some others too. Quite a good attack sweden

Would be bad move from him. He be third choice striker here and we only play one striker.

About every team would be a bad move then as all the modern formations use 1 striker

He's not just an out and out striker.....and are you aware of our track record with injuries?

I really want this to happen. The bhoy is a good all rounder with a great work ethic. I’m pretty sure he would improve under ange then get a bigger move after 2-3 years

If injuries pile up, we can play the youth. Out of respect to Henrik, his son shouldn't rot on our bench to wait for 3 appearances.

Why would his son have to rot? What if he comes in and plays well? You’re not dropping anyone if someone is consistently performing for the club when it matters.

If we signed Larsson Jr, it’s because we believe he can make the team and squad competitive. I truly believe he could rack ip a serious amount of appearances for us.

Who would you bench to give him game time?

It’s not about ‘giving him game time’. If we sign a player, it’s because we believe he can contribute at least as well as those we currently have, surname or no.

If Larsson comes in, and replicates what he’s shown for Spartak, he moves ahead of Abada and Forrest in the pecking order at RW, which appears to be his best position.

It’s not rocket science. You’re just trying to be contrarian for the sake of it.

There's also Maeda in contention for either RW or LW, depending on where Jota plays. We have a crowded attack with a relatively defined pecking order.

    Do we actually rate him?

Is he gonna challenge for a starting berth?

Can / could he play Angeball?

Or is the excitement in this thread based on nostalgia for Henke?

I actually trust more than a few posters on here, so if they say JL can flourish here, then sign him up.
But if its more of a "he will do a job definitely"... Meh.

Keep the wage, weve more important positions to fill.

It’s not a crowded attack at all. We only have 6 for those 3 positions (Johnson can’t be counted upon). Injuries to 2 of them and we’re practically threadbare.

Forrest is coming to the end of his career and we need better competition at RW than him, and preferably one who is left-footed, as Larsson is.
Again excluding Johnson, we’ve no left-footed players in any of those positions.

Isn't Maeda left-footed (in reality uses both feet)? And regarding Forrest- his contract was recently renewed. That means Ange sees him as worth having.
Johnston might be necessary to keep because of homegrown player quotas in Europe, and is currently fit, anyway. Hatate has quite a bit of experience at LW, should we need him there. Jota can shift over to RW, in that case.

Anyone suggesting we don’t need another forward is kidding themselves on.

@Leone Naka Fan and which youth player do you suggest is ready to play a part for us this season in attack?

Maeda is right footed. Not sure how you don’t know that.

People really need to think about the fact that he is a quality player. He banged them in for Spartak even in the biggest games in Russia before his son was born, which he has spoken about being a rough patch with sleep issues etc.

Also the fact that he suits angeball like a glove with constant pressing.

Also that he can play in about 4 attacking positions. Sure it’s awesome that he is a Larsson but this guy is a player ffs in his prime age for free.

Dawson and Moffat. Dawson got at least one senior team appearance, in which he looked good (played up front together with Abada).

    I'd love him to sign.

I think he'd fit perfectly into the style Ange implements.

In reality I don't think he will sadly, wages will be issue and in fairness to the lad a team like Forest are likely to offer him stupid money like £65k a week where we would likely only offer about half that.

He really would such a great addition to the squad if he could tempt him
