I can just imagine the conversation:

Mooy: Okay Ange, where do I sign?

Ange: Sorry mate. Gazzi79 said no... and not just any no. It was a big no.

Would make zero sense on so many levels, for me.

The sense it makes is that he's a really good player who Ange knows very well, has family ties to Glasgow so might be happy to come for less than he'd get elsewhere.

But I agree he's not the robust, mobile defensive mid we'd like to see.

    Nah. Doesn't make sense.

He's not what we need at all. Forget family ties. Last summer I wanted him more but he'd be disappointing considering some of the names we are being linked with now.

And the Australian hinted countryman Aaron Mooy isn’t likely to be coming to Parkhead either. Celtic were linked with the midfielder after he became a free agent when he left Chinese Super League side Shanghai Port.

Postecoglou coached the 31-year-old in his time in charge of the Socceroos and while he could land the former Manchester City, Huddersfield and Brighton star for nothing, he says he and Celtic are working on other priority targets. Postecoglou admitted he rates the former St Mirren star but as it stands there are no guarantees that he would firm up his interest in him.

He said: “He’s another footballer who is very much talented and very much in my range, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to bring him in, no. Aaron’s a fantastic footballer, somebody I know really well. I’m sure he will get picked up, he’s a very talented player.

Sounds like we are in for him which makes me a bit worried. Would be madness bringing in a 31 year old

Nah, sounded more like he was being nice, talking him up as to say he’s good enough for Celtic but not what we are wanting right now.

No, I read that as absolutely not interested but talking him up anyway.

Probably get slated back in Oz if he said anything less about Mooy, but now I'm deeply worried he could end up at sevco.

If you play in Scotland, Aaron... at least sign for * Hibs! They could use you.

What a let down that is. What is he going to give us that Turnbull, Hatate, O'Riley or McGregor can't?

This feels utterly pointless and the opposite of what we need in the midfield
