Get him out on loan, like we did with Ajer to a team in the SPL. Prefer he worked with a decent manager who tries to play similar football to ours when they can. A Ross County maybe? Would definitely get minutes there and he would be under the cosh enough to need to be defensively apt while still trying to play good football, passing out from the back etc. Don't know what Lee Johnson sets his teams up like and I know Goodwin generally tends to try and play a more direct game. Malky McKay would be a decent guy to learn off.

Welsh will be the main back up so would be good to get this boy out on loan, looks like he has all the right abilities. Just needs the experience, I’d be tempted to put him to a team like Kilmarnock like we did with Ajer, a more defensive team where he can get used to the physicality.

Just hope (for now) he keeps getting a run in preseason as the quality of opposition goes up. I liked the look of him first time I saw him. Others have said it also but he has the whiff of VVD about him.

Had one mix up with 10 minute's to go but apart from that I think he has so much potential..

Decent pace but is much more imposing than Welsh and better on the ball..

Like the look of him a lot..

Still raw in a few aspects but he's going to be some player, get him loaned out this season to a hibs/aberdeen.

I think we may keep him around the first team squad. Could well get 15 or game's with us at least and useful as he can play centre half or central midfield..

    Real potential..

Impressed with him again, young lad that needs games time, rather he gets first time football this season even if it’s a loan away.

Could he turn into the robust, mobile defensive mid we've been crying out for?

That was his position at Watford and for the Irish underage teams, he's only recently been converted to a centre half.

Troy Deeney actually described him as an excellent box to box midfielder and similar to Doucoure when he was there..

That's what I thought. Would like to see him have a go a defensive mid. He definitely looks a player.

Ajer was the same wasn't he, played midfield as he was coming up then converted to a CB after we signed him, think Lawal could play a similar role for us? I think it's something we've missed since Ajer left, him being so comfortable on the ball and willing carry it out from the back if the space opens up in front of him.

Why do we buy midfielders and turn them into centre Half's ff if lawal played in midfield for Watford * play him in midfield we had enough of bitton at centre back .
