I thought in the video he looked quite box to box, not a goal threat but a bit all action. Where as the report above says he is very much all about defensive actions and his progressive passing where it can be accurate is no something he uses often. Encouragingly the report suggests at that point a couple of years back he looks to have potential to go up levels.

The only thing that worries me is he doesn’t seem to have played many games last year and oddly went from captain one week to the bench the next, which all seems a bit strange.

Souza probably is a more exciting prospect but Owusu does look an interesting alternative should it fall through.

 

We absolutely desperately need a DM for Europe or we'll get tanked. McGregor isn't a defensive midfielder, we'll be in big trouble if we don't recruit.

 

I suppose we could use Ideguchi. Either in the 6 or 8 position. Fit as a fiddle, judging by the friendly, and defensively hard-working, but likes a long shot, too.
Downside: not a monster physically, and might not be the ideal holding mid, due to his all-round characteristics.

 

I get what you’re saying in that domestically it’s not something we necessarily need every week, but for the biggest games (both domestically and Europe) it’s an absolute must.

There’s absolutely no chance we don’t bring in a DM during this window. It’s number one on Ange’s priorities.
