Not really disagreeing too much with you in terms of players need games to be competitive but what shocked me at that particular game was he appeared to struggle running in general, never mind against the opposition.

It could well be a false impression on my behalf but he basically looked * after being on the pitch for 10 minutes.

Aye he was really bad that night no doubt about that.

Just half interested to see if he gets better with 4 or 5 games but on other hand wouldn't b eoverly bothered if he wasnt here long enough for that due to his attitude

Love it when any player puts the effort and application in, so definitely hoping Jullien can compete.

On the other hand he cost us £7m and honestly never seen him as anything special. Had his moments but nothing more.

Definitely not our future so if we can sell him this season then I'd go for that. Would rather see longer term options like Welsh, Lawall or Murray get game time if we can't recruit in that position and Julliens not performing.

Think a left footer centre back would really compliment us. Ben Davis from Liverpool would be my pick if we could get him.

Unlikely we will bring another in tho unless Jullien goes so given his issues and probably never gonna be a 1st pick for Ange it would probably be better all round if he goes in next week or 2.

Really liked the look of Lawal tonight. Interesting to see him against better opposition over next couple of weeks

Defense wasn't exactly under pressure today but I agree Lawal looked good.

Far rather be testing him, Welsh, or similar than playing Jullien in all honesty if Jullien isn't a guaranteed improvement on our other 2 CBs. Which I don't believe he is. Think Ange may feel similar.

Yeah would prefer another 1 in with bit more experience like a Davies type then have Lawal as 4th choice and let Welsh go out on loan for the year.
Personally I don't rate Welsh but he needs a year of playing regularly to see if he can cut it

There was one time Julien needed to cover a ball in behind him, and he was so far off the pace, Uroghide covered it brilliantly that it wasn’t a danger to us. But it was a ball that he should turn and cover.

And that’s the issue with him just now I think. The injurys took him down to a pace that him and Josh Thomson would be a good 10 minute sprint for winning the 100m

If he is fit then we have ready made back-up for CCV and Starfelt - This is a guy we shelled out £7 million for and is good defender - Only Ange and his staff will know his fitness levels; that will decide whether he stays or goes

It’s important to remember he wanted to stay and fight. As long as he wants to be here, I don’t mind him staying.

Is that actually the case? You seem very certain, just wondering why.

Not saying it's not a possibility but it's also possible he doesn't have a better option so has to stay.

It was widely reported before he even flew to Germany.

He couldn't agree terms with Schalke. He would have been offski otherwise

"I still have a year of contract and I'd like to continue playing here, but my priority is to be on the pitch.

"If the conditions do not change, it is certain that on my side the door will be open to continue my career elsewhere at a club where the coach would be happy to rely on my qualities."

Copy and pasted from an article earlier in the thread.

As soon as I read this, and after seeing him sulking about the pitch on trophy day, I wanted him gone. Am actually really surprised he's still involved with the squad the now.

He literally says in that quote that he’d “like to continue playing here.” After a horrific injury, he just wants to get back to doing what he loves and I find it hard to criticise him for that. Especially when we have seen so many leave the club to chase money.

If he goes, it will be because it suits both the club and the player. If he doesn’t, I hope he gets back to his best.

Tbh not that bothered if he stays or goes...if he leaves for a fee or free, not fussed.

Nothing against the lad. He's wanting to play regular and at it's core...that is what you'd expect from professional players, that they want to play games and if they aren't getting that, then they'd want to leave.

    Hardly groundbreaking, shocking stuff that.

I'm sure if he could stay fit for the entire season I'd say he would have something to contribute...but he's been out of the 11 for so long now. Him leaving makes no difference.

It also reads as an ultimatum, and an accusation that the manager isn't 'happy to rely on his qualities'.

That's just arguing semantics though, the real problem for me is the fact his face was tripping him on trophy day, and got blanked several times by his team mates.

Possible I'm reading to much into that of course, but there's just something about him that doesn't sit right with me. Would be happy to see him go.

Was rumoured to be one of the players Lennon was referring to after the Ferencvaros game. Apparently he demanded to go to Dubai as well on the infamous winter break trip. Could be complete bollocks

He didn't look like a guy who wanted to stay and fight last day of the season.

Interesting those quotes came out as the transfer window had opened. Wouldn't be surprised if he's realised he's not going to get the money elsewhere. Appears the reason why the Schalke move is on hold.

100% mate, but my point is that he doesn’t see Celtic as beneath him and isn’t just chasing money. If he leaves, I’d wish him nothing but the best.

In all honesty, I’d rather he left too, but if he gets back to his best then he’d be a good asset for the squad.
