If Ange is still hanging in on this guy, then I reckon he must be worth waiting on, and must be very close, as I don't think he'd be pricking about if he didn't think he'd be giving 100% when he arrived.

I wonder if it’s being left open because we want a loan to buy. Other teams be looking at that(looking at you Schalke who won’t be able to actually afford the option at the end) and thinking just get him for a year or can’t afford him now but maybe we can in 12 months.

Think if this kid is that good, just take all the other clubs out of it and slap the €9m down, that will force his hand and rule out so many tire kickers at the wrong dealership.

I cnt see Betis or schalke beating us for him winning a league another 2 domestic cups up for grabs and UCL football won't get that anywhere else

 

I'm surprised we are still interested if it's him dragging his heels. Ange has said, on numerous occassions, he isn't there to sell the club to a player, if they aren't absolutely certain they want to be here no hard feelings we move on to other targets.

It sounds to me like he doesn't really want to come here, and is looking for anything better. I get the feeling, based on mot much I admit, that even if he does come now he'll be looking for an out at the first available opportunity. That kind of attitude could potentially cause some disharmony in the squad.

I would love to get him, he's pretty much the identikit of what I thought we need in the DM position, but if he's not commited to being here I think we should move on already.

 

I can see him going to Betis especially if his agent wants him in a better league he'd be a replacement for carvalho and this has dragged on too long move on to other targets that actually want to play here

 

I hope the carrot signs soon because I'm sick of this shampoo... making a Helen hunt out of us now...

Hope the club have given him a deadline and if that deadline passes, walk away and onto the new target. I like him and I think he is exactly what we need but there will be plenty of players out there who are exactly the same. If he doesn't agree to sign on the deadline, pull out of negotiations and move onto the next one.

Betis, I can see why someone would want to go there. Beautiful city, beautiful weather and plays against 2 of the biggest teams on the planet and will get a big move to one of them if he has a storming season. Also, they are close to losing one of their defensive midfielders. Schalke, absolutely no chance. Couldn't afford his boots. Ajax, I think he would probably end up there if their interest was actually real. Not sure they are interested in him right now. Things may change if they sell Alvarez though.
