    All I can see is Rennes being linked to him, surely we would have a chance of fighting it out with them, with the lure of Champions League there as well?

    You would like to think so.

    Adding Denayer and Souza would make us frightening, could make a serious dent in Europe if we get it right tactically.

    Aye definitely, would bring us up a level majorly that, skill, passing and physicality. Not even been a squeek about a link with him though, but him being on a free surely to * we ask the question?

    When Patrick Roberts signed he said this about Denayer

    “I spoke to him and he said it was a very, very good club. So I was happy with what he said and I was really excited.

    “He said he never wanted to leave. He enjoyed it so much he kept bragging on about it every time I asked him”

    Got to be worth the question.

    Didn't we try and loan Denayer for another year, but he turned us down because he found the league too easy (or something along those lines)? I think there were rumours during the Rodgers era as well, when Galatasaray were having financial issues, but I could be misremembering.

    He would be the arrival with the greatest impact since Rodgers. I am as doubtful as you are, but if the club can somehow pull out the money, smash the wage ceiling, whatever...it would be a good move. A CB that can handle the big boys of Europe.

    Would be hilarious after so long under Lawwell....we are now spending what we have and then just as a fantasy...we sign Souza on loan then Larsson and Denayer on a free. In any other window that alone would be considered an amazing window just signing those three.

    Talk about working with a budget.

    Realistically Larsson and Denayer would be wanting fairly sizable salaries....talking minimum probably, £65k a week each but on a free and what their transfer fee would have been if we were to trying bid for them you'd think would all even itself out in terms of long term cost to club.

    Doubt either will happen...but if it did...the club could rightly expect record revenue intake that * all over record during Rodgers stint at the club. Fans would go nuts and spend everything on the club.

    Larsson's last season in Russia was poor and the only interest in him seemed to be from Sweden. The idea that he'd be getting or looking for £65k a week is insane.

    Then a loan move back to Sweden in-between. We could get him for about £20k a week.
