I want him badly but has to be a significant loan period or have an OTB. I don’t want to develop other clubs players.

I think there was interest; the fact we have backed out (reportedly) is hopefully a sign we are confident of signing Souza; the more I read about him the more I like

Football Scotland can now reveal that those links are wide of the mark and that the Hoops have not - and will not - make a move for the player this summer despite these reports. Celts are, indeed, still on the hunt for another midfield option but Semedo is not one they are considering at this time.

It was agent pish me thinks

This guy, Mmaee and a CB along with getting Bernabei and Jota in, with CCV and Siegrist, and I'd be happy to go the rest of the summer without signing any other *.

    Would be insane.

Well maybe throw in a wee deadline day special actually. Couple project signings :ange2:

If we are unsuccessful in signing this one, we should just look for a defensive midfielder who can destroy, even if he cannot pass. There's no way we are going to keep possession in Europe this year, whether McGregor or Souza play.

Normally I'd agree but he's one of the most sought after young players in his position in Europe (within our budget anyway).

Club Brugge, Ajax and PSV all sides that we should be looking to compete and emulate and they're all interested. It's definitely worth even having him here for a year.

Who knows, he might get the bug. If he does then that would be the situation where you'd be praying for an option to buy. Even if its £10-12m.

Havent read any updates in any Belgian or Dutch news outlet for the past few days on him. So very curious whats going on behind the scenes. Brugge was told 9mil EUR was the pricetag, so Fenerbahces offer of 5 will have been laughed off.
I want to see him so badly in the Hoops. best DEF midfielder in Belgian Jupiler league.

Would cost us around £7.7 million to outright buy him, it's not a small fee for us but it's within our budget. I'd still be very happy even if it was a straight up loan, but what a statement it would be from us to get him permanently or on a LTB.

Ideal situation would be a loan to buy with €9m option and then agree with City that they get first option buy back etc.

Use some FM clauses. Away we go.

I've never seen the guy play, hadn't even heard of him until about a week ago.

Hasn't stopped me telling my wee ma that we desperately need him cause he'll take us up a level in Europe so get your holy candles out.

I get that mate but you’re just kicking the can down the road. I like the OTB. It’s worked for both Jota and CCV and we should implement that again. If he comes in, plays well… sign him for £9m and if there is that much interest in him, do a Oostende and sell him on in the same window for a few million extra.

I’m not going to sit here and say I won’t be delighted if we get him, regardless of the option to buy. It’s an incredible signing but I just want our club to start putting ourselves out there. We are not a feeder club, we will gladly loan a player but we always take an option to buy.

Again, and I’m contradicting myself here, if he comes and he does only agree to a loan deal, I’ll still be happy. I’ll just end up crying next year when he leaves and ends up replacing Rodri at Man City.

Totally agree but I just have the feeling this isn't one we want to miss out on even for a year, help us in Europe and secure another title.

I have a sneaky feeling that if he does come here we will have an option to buy.

Just can't see us not pushing for that now. Even if it's £10m+. Either way I think we will have our answer by the end of this week.

For those who are in love.....
I think we may have to buy him outright to get it done..

If it's a loan to buy i don't see why Fenerbache, Club Brugge or PSV say don't just do the same with a 9 mill say fee if they buy at the end of it..

What gives us the head start is going after our main man straight away and signing him. PSV don't know where they'll be European wise. Fenerbache can't afford him. Don't know if Club Brugge can pay more than us but we can definitely compete with them. Also some of these side's have bigger targets plus player's they're waiting to see if they can keep hold if in the same position's..

Just think a loan to buy evens the playing field a bit. The City group may have a big say..

Really feel like we'll get him..
