    Further talks were held yesterday and Ange wants a decision from him this week.

    We wouldn’t be wasting our time if we didn’t believe there was mutual interest and a decent chance he’ll come here.

    What might go in our favour is Ajax and PSV’s interest being dependent on them losing players (Alvarez and Sangare respectively), whereas we’re keen right now. City wanting him to come here is also a huge helping hand.

    Celts are, indeed, still on the hunt for another midfield option but Semedo is not one they are considering at this time. Vinicius Souza, previously on loan at Mechelen, is one they are hoping to get over the line but a deal has not yet been concluded for the Lommel enforcer.


    Nir Bitton leaving alongside Tom Rogic this summer has opened up space for a new midfielder at Parkhead and Ange Postecoglouis hopeful of bringing one in ahead of the new campaign.

    Basically he's a defensive monster who is very good on the ball and an excellent dribbler. He's tall, strong and wins loads of tackles and headers without sacrificing his ball playing abilities.

    All the stats and metrics show that he's one of the best young defensive midfielders in Europe right now that isn't in a top 5 league.

    So if we get this guy I take the Semedo deal is off the table; not going to pretend I know anything about either player before they were linked to Celtic but looking at the stats and reports Souza looks to be the better option by quite a long way
