My biggest worry isn't the sign on fee but whether he wants to sign for us. He's a Benfica fan is he not? That could be the biggest factor here for him. Hope not but does make me nervous about all the ITK chat/reports.

Benfica haven't exactly shown him much love though.

If celtic did to me what they've done to him and I went on loan to Benfica and their fans started to adore me, I'd stay there.

I'm pretty confident he will stay. Same with CCV. Hope I'm right...for once.

    Hope so too mate.

Just saying the concerns about percentages sort of miss the point a bit for me. I want to have confirmed they both want to stay before anything else really matters.

I think he'll sign, a lot of noise surrounding it.

It's CCV I'm worried about, seems dead quiet on that end (maybe potentially a good thing?)

Both have told the club they want to be here next season and both look very likely to happen.

All that’s missing is Jota’s signature, the paperwork is literally prepared.

The bhoy just needs to finish slaying in Ibiza and then he will go back to Lisbon all relaxed and refreshed to sign the paperwork.

Its all looking positive but nothing set in stone until he puts pen to paper which wont be until he returns from Ibiza at the earliest.

Im not as fussed about the future fee to Benfica- whether its 30% of the future sale or 30% of the profit of the future sale, I think what Jota could bring in terms of contribution to the team in success, qualifications, etc could far exceed what he might bring in in any future transfer fee.

As iv previously stated he is already worth three times what we will pay for him.

If Ryan Kent is supposedly worth around £15m, Jota is worth double.

There is surely no way anyone is paying £15m for someone like Ryan Kent. He's got fancy tricks and flicks with zero end product. Add in the fact that he has a year on his contract and he can sign a pre contract with someone else come January, there is no way they are getting that sort of fee. It's not like he's young either, he's * 25.

Yeah I agree, but just see these kind of fees been throwing about by media speculation and their fans (exaggerated/deluded). I think Leeds would have taken a punt before Bielsa left, but now rumours they are looking at Aaronsen.

But aye I agree, point im making is it just puts into perspective what Jota is worth. Bearing in mind the time he spent out of the side injured, he has done remarkably well.

Totally agree mate. £6.5m for a 22 year old winger with 27 goal contributions... he signs for us and we could easily ask for double that from someone else. Yeah, the 30% isn't ideal but even if it is 30% of the future fee, you sell him for £15m, you're making a good enough profit since. *, we could end up in the champions league the next two years. That's £80m in revenue. Just sign the * boy.

    Exactly, Thats the bigger picture.

He is a flair player with end product who will get bums off seats. He is made to play for us in the champions league. And he has a cracking attitude and has taken to the club.

    * selling him anyway. I want him to stay until he's burned out and 40 years old.
