Both goals, ducking unreal, I don’t think we have had two deadly forwards for a number of years like Kyogo and Big Jackie.

Exciting times for next season when both have a rest and a full pre season under their belts.

Keep trying to work out an Ange-type formation that would have 2 up top for against weaker teams... Be a prospect to see that kind of attacking force in front of our wingers and attacking mids and wingbacks

Only way would be a 3-5-2 where you can push the wingbacks up and have still have a midfield 3. Don't think we have enough centre halves to play it though:

    Hart
    CCV New CB Starfelt
    Juranovic Turnbull McGregor Hatate Taylor
    Kyogo Giakoumakis
Tbh though I quite like the way we can rotate GG and Kyogo with each other and they both offer something completely different but with potent finishing ability - horses for courses too with certain games favouring either one.

And where’s Jota in that lineup? :47::47::47: He’s 100% here next year :78:

Yeah depending on how attacking you're lining up you could swap the full backs for wingers, in Europe though it might be a good way to get more defensive minded players into the side while still carrying goalscoring threat up top. Obviously Ange won't be thinking that way though :giggle1:

Don’t know why people still think playing 2 upfront automatically means we’ll somehow be more or better at attacking.

And suggesting stuff lit we drop a player like Jota and then rely on Taylor out wide…

    4-4-2.

Jota left side, Juranović or Forrest on the right. Ralston can be RB, Taylor or a completely new man as LB.

Alternatively, Jota can go right, and Hatate left (he's played LB and LW plenty of times in Japan), and is useful defensively.

Question remains who partners McGregor in the CM slot. I think this setup would be very useful in Europe.

Each to their own but I think it sounds * mental and a complete disaster.

    Especially for Europe.

I admit it sound very un-Ange-like, but why would it be a disaster? Jota gets a spot, both and Kyogo and Giorgos play up top, while the shape is easier to set up defensively. We'd be a nightmare to play against- a big Greek menace drawing defenders away from Kyogo, who has done damage in Europe already.

Well taking out a midfielder when we’re already getting overrun in there against any half decent team and not playing our best RB at RB.

Then on top of that playing two strikers including one who basically offers nothing in build up and possession and constantly gives the ball away when one of our biggest problems in Europe is not being able to keep possession and constantly turning the ball over leaving us exposed and eventually gassing the team out.

I was thinking some kind of 4132, but every time I tried it was either completely unbalanced, narrow or was unnecessarily disruptive to the squad... Best I could think of was:

    Hart
    JJ, Starfelt, CCV, New LB
    New DCM
    Abada, Cal, Jota
    Kyogo, GG

It'd need to be a team we had ABSOLUTELY no fear of attacking us back :56:

Forrest is getting on, Juranovic isn't a winger and Hatate isn't a left back mate. Would be a recipe for disaster in Europe for positions we'd need to be as strong as possible.

We can't control possession against any decent team in Europe, right now, and this will continue to be the case in the coming years, due to player prices. Even if we replaced Hart and Starfelt with some players comfortable with the ball at their feet, there is the matter of regaining possession when the opposition have it.

Making sure we maximise the usefulness of whatever possession we do get can be done, though. A hold-up player partnering a fast, aggressive striker would be very helpful when a counterattack opportunity presents itself, or to relieve pressure.

Our budget absolutely dwarfs the likes of Bodo so you can fling the arguments about budget right out the window.

Giakoumakis link up and hold up play is absolutely no where near good enough to build a tactic around it never at a European level.
